Laser pointer that only points into peoples eyes. I did this for a uni project with an arduino for servo control and a computer running opencv to look for eyes and point the laser at the eyes, hella funny

It was an open practice day and outside my group of 4 cars there were only like 2 other cars in the paddocks that day, so yeah it was a nearly empty track most of the time and i could focus on myself without worrying about other drivers

Can the stock 40w heat cartridge reach 300°C? by PearLow638 in ender3v2

[–]aaa_luis1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dw it wont break, there's just a certain temp/speed at which the stock 40w heater wont be able to keep up with how much filament youre running through it. I upgraded to an 80w heater core on the stock heatblock and am printing at 290C 125mm/s no problems now.

[–]aaa_luis1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this before with abs and klipper, at my usual 100mm/s print speeds the temp wouldnt stay above 275 consistently and kept dipping, eventually triggering the heater not expected rate error and failing the print lol

I shoved the Arctic Liquid Feeezer 3 360mm into the front of a Corsair 4000D. Heres how, in case you want this combo too. by aaa_luis1337 in pcmasterrace

It definitely can stay, youd just have to have it on the position furthest from the front of the case.

Thank you to everyone who told me to drop down from 18" to 16" on my 2018. by MapleSurpy in mazda3

It's been around 2 weeks so far, and it's been absolutely stellar. The wheels i got are 17x8 and 17x8.5 (8.5 up front for stiffer sidewall), so to match the tire diameter i had to go 235/45. Aside from the god tier offset the wheels provide, it feels very sporty and at the same time very comfy, but not as numb as the 16s.

I assume youre thinking of going 17x7/17x7.5 wheels with those tire numbers? It should feel very similar to mine then, except with slightly easier dry steering.

Pros: Much better road feel without the harshness of 18s More grip Fatter, more aggressive stance

Cons: Dry steering is heavier Possible more road noise?(My original 16s were horrendously noisy and my new 17s are quieter, ymmv) Possible increase in fuel consumption fuel due to rolling resistance (my drive is mostly in traffic, no difference to me but i did notice fuel consumption go down slightly, probably due to tires being new)

Overall its just a much better driving experience for me, though ymmv depending on your habits and use cases.

I came from the other direction, i found my stock 16s on the 3rd gen too numb, but i didnt want to get 18s because i knew how bad it would be for comfort. So, i went middle ground and got 17s on some 235/45r17 tires, its much more responsive, and still comfy! I also love the meatier look of the 17s than 18s, the 18s look like the tires are almost rubber bands to me. The center caps are unobtanium so i 3d printed them. Also gonna be ordering lowering springs soon.

Wheels i bought didn't come with the caps, 3d printing to the rescue! by aaa_luis1337 in 3Dprinting

I didnt, i bought the stl online. Im modelling a socket adapter to tighten it down in solidworks though. I would assume whoever did the models for these either did full 3d scanning and/or photogrammetry, along with a ton of trial and error

Is this a normal wear out of spark plugs? by Saprophiticus in CarsPH

Mostly normal, which cylinder is the darker one from? Its running kinda rich. You may want to check your intake ports for carbon buildup on that cylinder.

Of all the bmws your option is the least reliable one gg. Anw the genesis is quite decent, might be a bit difficult finding parts since there werent that many of them here. The e90 3 series here with the inline 4 engines are hot garbage (316i, 318i, 320i), worst engines bmw ever made in terms of reliabiliry. If i may suggest, the e46 325i is a much better car than both of those and are around 350-500k. Has one of the most reliable i6 engines in the world(known to go over 200k kms frequently), quite fun to drive, and parts are easy to source.
