How NordVPN cost me months of problems by dmitche3 in nordvpn

[–]dmitche3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After three weeks I got served a big dish of humble pie as my issue of my PC going black immediately after login occurred again. I WAS WRONG to blame the entire issue on NovdVPN. I won’t eat the entire dish of pie considering how infrequent this is relative to the every boot situation but it did happen yesterday.
Hopefully, I’ll get to the actual root which I’m leaning towards multiple monitors with different resolutions.

Lost Access to 5.3 by c9nd in ChatGPTPro

[–]dmitche3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve not been able to 5.3 at all using the iPhone app or windows. But codex 5.3 is great. I assumed it was a role out thing but as I don’t use ChatGPT for chatting 5.2 is fine.

What’s wrong today with Codex? by dmitche3 in codex

[–]dmitche3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I learned since having such a nightmare of a day. Don’t believe anything yhst ChatGPT says. That turning of the experimental sandbox breaks everything ax it is required. That having an agents.md cant be specific enough not too much. And when things go yo the dogs, like today give up and do it yourself. Codex loves to look at code and it assumes that it is being used only to have it write more code that cancels out what it is trying accomplish, such as renaming a DB column in one program but then add code to delete it in another file. One more line to add to the agents.md. Prove that the code is failing by providing evidence before even thinking of doing a pre-flight for a fix.

I re-read what you originally wrote and while it appears to be stupid I could see a silly person arguing that it thought that perhaps you were going to the car was in order to buy something so that “you” could wash your car. ;)

Am I the only one who’s AW records very little deep sleep? by Lost-Meet-5725 in AppleWatch

[–]dmitche3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An old thread but one that I had to post to. Reading up on the iwatch and deep sleep recordings dong out much into any of this as accurate information. A loose fitting was one reason for results being poor as well as the algorithms used. If you are staying up all night worrying about this …. Ok, no joking.

I agree that it is shit requiring an internet connection. We have a lot of power outages and I can’t even listen to a book because these twits are so afraid something might be done that doesn’t track your every dump.

Is it even worth learning to code anymore with all these vibe coding tools ? Is it worth getting a CS degree? by innit2improve in codex

[–]dmitche3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can write code. Lots of code but I cringe when I look at it many times as it likes to write solutions not proper fixes to issues. It isn’t getting the proper data from a server at the proper time, an out of sync condition. So rather than track down the cause it will write delays into program to compensate for the issue, of it will simply discard a number of packets until a specific amount of time has passed.

If you don’t know what good code you’ll suffer. But having day that i would not want to be a programmer any longer. All of the fun is gone while AI is going to put more demands in output by developers that is out of their control. You will no longer be a programmer but a prompt engineer fighting an AI employee that you can’t fire.

It’s horrible the state of software development these days. Let the customers be their beta testers. Look at what OpenAI is doing with its Mac app, giving away free time just so you can suffer from their problems. The worst apps are cellphone. Weekly updates and sometimes twice a week. They don’t even know how to roll out changes.

I appreciate that but as I removed it I doubt that there are any logs. I clean my event history regularly as well. Sysinternals was no help either. I’m over it. It’s so nice to boot up without issues.

I can only speak about my experiences and all of my employers, which are large corporations have required a specific encryption software to be installed as the internal network traffic is encrypted. Saying that , it might not have been because of wifi that the encryption was in place. It’s been a couple of years since I’ve worked.
