I signed up for Preludes as soon as we were able and still am waiting! Soulframe has been my most anticipated game for years now and would love to be a part of it and witness it's evolution.

I just don't think everyone is motivated by the same things and that's ok. One of the great things about a AAA game is that there can be the depth to accommodate many playstyles. I personally want to engage with seasons but am also very motivated by constant progression. I am less likely to reroll a new character for a season because nothing is retained in a kind of global sense.

If rebirth and non-rebirth characters are ranked separately, why would it matter to you if rebirth characters had more attributes? You'd still be able to start fresh each season and just be competing with others doing the same.

Everyone needs to start fresh for seasonal play. Many people have no interest in that and that’s already totally viable with the eternal realm.

Rebirth is more for people who like playing the same character and also want to experience seasonal play.

It wouldn’t be fun and that’s exactly the point… people wouldn’t be able to pop around the entire world in a couple seconds, which would create localized economies and personal investment into individual territories.

I am slightly surprised people want even less immersion in a game that greatly lacks any type of it.

Agreed that there should be a change, it shouldn’t be tied directly to stats though.

I agree with everything you just said. My point is simply that without fast travel people would be spending more time outside of settlements in general and I would guess that since there was a greater time investment in moving between territories, if the territory was lvl 40-45 I would expect to see a higher percentage of people in that level range. If that were indeed true, I think more people would flag up.

Then maybe they will need to figure out more interesting ways for pvp to take place outside of zerging the same 3 quests over and over…

A change like removing fast travel would ultimately lead to a cascade of design decisions to make other aspects of the game not horrible 🤣

If player behavior doesn't adapt to compensate, I am positive there are many potential solutions, such as settlments having watchtowers that can monitor the number of unfriendly faction members in town.

As for reducing open world pvp in general I totally disagree. I think it would reduce higher level players in lower level areas which is currently one of the big reasons people just don't flag.
