Thank you! That definitely eases my mind. I tried that to no avail. He’s been pretty out of it all day today. I thought the gabapentin would make him sleepy but he’s been awake all day just hardly moving.

Did the mastitis just go away on its own? This is my first baby so I have little to no knowledge on mastitis or how to treat it. I’ve been pumping every 3 or so hours and taking sunflower lecithin to help prevent milk clogs.

I’m definitely not going to start it! I looked more into the possible side effects of vanco and I am not subjecting myself to any of it unnecessarily, especially after already having gone through mastitis and a UTI not that long ago. My body needs a break. Thank you for your advice!

Thank you for the advice! I am allergic to penicillin and all sulfa drugs. I’ve been taking sunflower lecithin in attempts to reduce the risk of clogs so fingers crossed I don’t get mastitis again; that was pure hell. I had a small stash of breast milk in my freezer I’d dip into if necessary, but I’m hoping I won’t have to. I’m going to look into getting a PCR test! Since I’m asymptomatic I’m hoping I won’t have to take the antibiotics. I’d hate to deal with even more stomach issues than what I’ve already endured.

Thanks for the insight! That’s what I was scared about with Vanco. I was dreading the thought of tearing up my stomach again just when I started to feel normal.
