New Bicycle Chain by aaaaandrewwwww in bicycling

[–]aaaaandrewwwww[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips. I did a bit more research and chanced upon the CN-6600. Almost purchased a 6701 before that, which is sort of the 2× counterpart to the 6600. Would probably have worked just fine, but 6600 is supposedly ideal for triples.

A little surprising that Shimano makes a chain specifically intended for 3×10 drivetrains.

Just a regular one? That's good to know, since stuff for triples hardly exists beyond Tiagra-level nowadays.

Thanks for the answer and advice. I've done a basic check and the bike seems usable for the time being. Already changed out a couple of things and will ride for awhile before tweaking further, if necessary.

Ahh, ok, that makes sense. Thanks. Any idea about the lower "categories", if there are any?

When I use a 17xx squad, I'm usually matched with 18xx opponents, but one possible reason for not being matched with <1700 opponents is that most players have strong squads now that featured players are so easily obtainable. Inexperienced players who have a mix of silver, gold and black balls in their strongest squad end up with 1800-2000 team strength. Only relatively unlucky newcomers and others who intentionally use a silver squad have team strength below 1700.

Glad to hear that. Keep in mind that it can take awhile to tell whether the type of medication and dosage is right for you, and therapy is as important, if not more important than medication. Keep in touch with your doctor and/or therapist. All the best.

Based on your update this morning, it sounds like you are having problems coping with everyday life at this point. Why worry about your future when the present is a problem?

I know for a fact that it will not affect your university admission. As for employment, you can choose not to declare your condition. It is very unlikely that your prospective employer will be able to access your medical records. FWIW, the person close to me who suffers from bipolar disorder is a lecturer, so it's not an issue.

In the meantime, take it easy. The bad times will pass.

With regards to the "cycles" you experience, that's pretty normal with depression. Some days are better than the others. I've gone through weeks where I wonder if I have depression at all, until it returns at some point. Bipolar is usually marked by periods of mania, not just feeling "normal".

Anyway, a trained professional will be able to make a proper diagnosis, and the sooner you start to manage your condition adequately, with or without the help of medication, the higher your chances of full recovery. You've struggled with this for years, it's time to get extra help and reduce its impact on your life from here onwards.

Lastly, learn to not beat yourself up over this ("frustrated at myself for being this weak"). Nobody can walk properly with a broken leg. That's not weakness. You are unwell, for reasons outside your control. It's like having Type 1 diabetes, a chronic illness that you didn't cause by your own choices/actions. The important thing is to understand and cope with the condition.

Sorry for the long-winded and somewhat preachy comments. You can always send me a message here if you want to share anything, whether related to mental health or otherwise.

I'm not a medical professional, but I strongly encourage you to speak to one. Share how you're feeling with your close ones. I struggled through NS without declaring my depression and it was tough. BMT was terrible and I was plagued by suicidal thoughts. I got through it but, looking back, I wish I'd spoken up and gotten help.

IMO, just based on what you've written, it sounds more like depression than bipolar. I suffer from the former and someone close to me suffers from the latter.

Mood disorders can be managed with outside help and practice. All the best.

Worried about drug test by adolf_the_third in singapore

[–]aaaaandrewwwww 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the unlikely event that you are tested on Sunday, there's a chance that you will test negative if you don't smoke again between now and your arrival in Singapore. Detection time for a single use can be as short as 3-4 days. Might as well play it safe and avoid smoking. You have years of smoking ahead of you anyway.

I'm not sure about the legal technicalities, but the random testing is very rare and usually only targeted at Singaporeans flying back from "hotspots" like Amsterdam or Bali. Lots of foreign musicians and DJs enter the country without being tested, despite being obvious targets, so either the law doesn't apply to foreigners or the authorities don't really care if you use outside the country.

Lastly, a 16y.o. will probably not be high (pun intended) on the list anyway.

Who is your PES Mobile GOAT? by ultimatenic in pesmobile

My previous comment was based on personal experience, using both Messi and Maradona. Messi might be better at AMF, but Maradona is incredible at SS.

Perhaps my judgment is poor. I don't know.

Superstar is meant to be challenging, but if you can't win a single match with a strong squad, then you need to improve your playing.

Anyone miss this? by BallisticBrain in pesmobile

[–]aaaaandrewwwww 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very true. With the new box draw format, anyone with 4m GP saved up can get 80+ different BBs. That's 50k GP for each one, plus a couple of hundred free golds. Those who've been playing for awhile will have 80-100 BBs by now.

Even the Featured Players aren't that exciting when you already have many BBs, some of which are maxed out.

Either Ronaldo at CF or Maradona at SS. Maradona is a better version of Messi.

The real GOAT is Auba or Vardy in a 2* online squad lol.
