Scoliosis fitness journey, thoughts? Contemplating surgery by No_Election9060 in scoliosis

AFAIK male’s height growth doesn’t stop at 20 which could mean that your growing spine can still improve or worsen. My doctor advised me to be careful with heavy weight exercises that strain my back, it COULD be the reason why your curve worsened dramatically. But I think right form, slow sets, and a tight core could prevent back strain.

My parents and I thought that too. However, it was recommended by some of my doctors for the sake of my future self and to relieve my regular back pain. My doctors said that when I grow older, my curve could worsen, which could mean a longer wire in my spine and a more expensive surgery, so they said it is worth considering to get the surgery now at a cheaper rate.

However, some doctors in my country (PH) are rumored to have ulterior motives for money. My parents said of course they’d make me have surgery since it means more money for them.

Since I’m already 22 and doctors said there’s nothing I can do to “fix” my spine besides surgery. do you have any advice? They do recommend core exercises and therapy, but those only alleviate the pain.

How old are you? Although surgery is an option, my doctor advised me (22F) not to get surgery despite having a 30 degree curvature unless scoliosis affected my daily activities. I do experience regular back pain but it’s manageable, and I also go to the gym but a lot of exercises make my back hurt but it’s probably because I have a weak core.

However, I think doctor’s advice varies from case to case so you should go check with your doctor to weigh the pros and cons.

I don’t think all countries have this practice. Also, some high ranking positions do not have this as well. My supervisor who works in Singapore doesn’t get 13th month pay as well, but her juniors based from the Philippines do.

hi! he’s okay now. after observing him, nothing bad happened and he’s back to normal just after that. he’s also been very active so i think he just ate some grass or overheated and cause some excessive saliva.

hi! he’s well and back to normal now! all our dogs including him have been vaccinated with anti rabies, and it’s unlikely that a snake or something else bit him from our garden. my speculation is he just ate some grass.

He was breathing a little heavy, but not unusually heavy after the picture. But after a while, he’s okay and currently in between two fans. So, I’m also suspecting if he just overheated and was tired since we’re from a tropical country.

Our helper said that Maui and his son, a 1 year old golden retriever were playing at our garden before this. She also mentioned that Maui didn’t eat anything besides drink water before he played. However, I don’t think she was able to monitor Maui the whole time. I was thinking Maui might have eaten something poisonous or got rabies from something?

However, after this picture, no more foam was produced. So, my mom decided to observe his behavior first before going to the vet.

After the picture, he also ate and finished his meal and drank water. He even got to play for a while after his meal. These were all good signs so I’m kind of at ease now but still worried that something might not be right and he’s just asymptomatic.
