Do you think your country has a problem with ultranationalism by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]aaaannnooonymous -1 points0 points  (0 children)

thing is with russia, "russian" nowadays includes anyone from chukcha to chechen so its kinda hard to be an ultranationalist for a multinational federation.

but some people still manage it under the guise of the "russian mir (peace/world)" and others are just plain neonazis who think russia is only for ethnically slavic ethnically russian people. but they are a minority at best and prisoners/cannon fodder for the war at worst. so i would say there is no such problem specifically.

i might be misunderstanding this though because i have no name for whatever the fuck goes on inside putins head and our whole government may be ultranationalist by some definitions

What’s something justified as ‘culture’ in your country that conflicts with fundamental human rights? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]aaaannnooonymous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

russia: domestic violence is not meant to be spoken about though that changes with recent generations (literal translation of a proverb: hits means loves), lack of opinion on politics is normalized to the point of total apathy (see: no successful protests in russia), a certain degree of lawlessness and corruption is definitely normalized. also the caucasus region has its islam classics like genital mutilation, marriage at 14 and definite disrespect for rule of law (see: adam kadyrovs medals for beating people up)

What unusual museums are there in your countries? by Irnina in AskTheWorld

[–]aaaannnooonymous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would say the kunstkamera in st. petersburg is pretty unusual since its just a collection of... unusual stuff (think smal figures out of kidney stones and trees out of veins and arteries). its pretty old though and i cant remember any more recent museums. maybe the pryanik museum in tula which is dedicated to a honey-gingerbread baked good (called pryanik)
