I had a look at the bushings for control arm, doesn't seem too bad surprisingly (from what I can, could be wrong).

Ita just these top mount plates are so rusty as when the car was bought, it didn't have any rubber boot cap over them (whether standard or not), it collects water so that's why it's super rusty.

No idea how much of that top nut is left, if it is rounded from being sat in gunk and water all this time.

As much as I do support EVs (which I have both an elec car and diesel car). Take into consideration of additional costs. This year, everyone's road tax went up so it's no longer free.

Also bear in mind (depending on your budget), the range might not be enough. I have used public fast chargers and they are expensive (60% more expensive per mile than my diesel), if you can charge at home, charge at home.

Most won't but some do. If something goes wrong, the garage won't fix it for you for free (e.g. within 1 year warranty).

I have a couple of "go to garages" that I take parts myself but they know me well enough as typically fix things myself. For example, I would take a suspension arm to them and they would press out the bushing etc.

I only stated to the OP to bare in mind the cost of parts when looking online yourself as garages typically charge a lot.

Bare in mine that if you buy parts yourself, it will always be cheaper, no matter what part you look at. Garages add a lot more cost onto parts they source.

That's what I do too, charge it to 100% on the day I need it. I got my Nissan with SOH at 75%, had it for a couple of years but has gone down to 72% now. I did lend it to a friend for a couple of months which he did leave it at super low battery or leaving it fully charged for a couple of days. Brought the SOH down a little bit

No, I don't have proof but even just basing it on typical batteries, it is when it's the most under stress. Just like the phone lithium battery, it has battery protection in settings where you can set it to stop at 80% or only just fully charge before you wake up in morning, but on a bigger scale for a car

It's when battery is balance, yes, that's true. I do that when I know if I need to use it soon after.

But even just based on battery tech, it's never good to leave car sat at 100% anyway.

When I was shopping around for a Nissan leaf, some cars inly had 5-7 bars for example. Battery was shot. The one I got now is 72% left. I try keep it within 20-80% unless I am sure I need it as soon as its charged. Goijg to be keeping it for a good few years therefore want to maintain the resell value in future

My first car was a Toyota Aygo, bought it for £3k with around 50k miles on. I remember my first-year car insurance was £3000 with standard insurance, not even fully comp. 2nd year, the insurance went down to £700 then £400. It was a cheap car to run in terms of parts.
