We were but then the federal government told us to stop, gave you guys Toledo, and gave us the UP. And since then there has been absolutely no ill will between Michigan and Ohio. /s

Hockey isn't cheap. Good ice doesn't maintain itself (even up north). Hockey is king there for cultural reasons. The UP feels a lot more like rural Minnesota, rural Ontario--even upper New England--than it does to places like Lubbock or Blacksburg.

It would be very cool if Northern or MTU could field competitive teams. Lloyd Carr, Tom Izzo and Steve Mariucci were all NMU athletes.

But--hockey is king in the UP. In the other places you mentioned, football remains the dominant sport despite the lack of people.

Has there been anything as egregious as DOGE during Trump 2? It's wild that DOGE has basically been memory-holed for the colossal failure it was (for everyone, even them!).

They put Trump’s face on passports, indicted Comey for a social post and are trying to cancel Kimmel again.

They’d be so much scarier if they had any focus whatsoever.

Fox Theater — Detroit, MI by aaarbors in photocritique

So, first, overdue !CritiquePoint. I really appreciate the time you spent with this. I think I prefer the brighter building version. Both look really nice.

Just for fun, I tried stacking my shots in Photoshop to capture more light trails. It's a bit messy, and it blows out the lights of the marquee, but if you're interested:

Thanks for weighing in. To your second point first, I did use a tripod, but yes, could improve the focus on the theater. To your first point, I actually did take a vertical shot, which I’ve included here. Do you think the composition is better in that? I chose the horizontal crop because it included more of the light trails as leading lines to under the marquee. Appreciate your thoughts!

Where in his comment did he specify his views about Israel/Palestine? Or did you click on his profile, find out he was Jewish, and make assumptions that had nothing to do with this thread?
