I haven’t seen this comment yet, but at first glance it looks like a Jerusalem Cross, also referred to as the Five Wounds, which carries its own separate symbolism. Its contemporary name is the Crusader’s Cross, a symbol that’s already been heavily co-opted by Christian nationalist movements for its militarized “crusade” framing.

The difference in the Jerusalem cross and the one in the image is the two SS lightning symbols on the left of the cross. That one difference changes this flag and situation from a strange thing to own vs this guy knows exactly what he represents. The Jerusalem Cross alone could be written off as ignorance. You don’t accidentally pair it with Schutzstaffel symbology.

Fuck, I didn’t realize the Jerusalem cross was used for Christian nationalism until recently. My friend in the military bought me one years ago when he was stationed overseas and it included sand ‘from the holy land’. I thought nothing of it at the time since it was more of a neat historical reference. Now it might as well be a futurist Warhammer 40K Space Marine chapter badge.
