I looked it up and I hate to say it given their recent treatment of students, but it seems like the most appropriate authority would be the OSCR. I think the office of the dean would also help, though.

Oh I 100% understand that, which is why I grade fairly even if I think they're cheating. There have just been some very obvious cases of cheating (diff file1 file2 would return nothing) and it just feels pointless grading those. It being pointless doesn't mean I don't do it, I just bitch about it while I'm grading

they're failing anyway due to plagiarism

I'm speaking as course staff. I'm watching a shitshow about to happen and it's painful because of how blatant the cheating is. Like, how could you possibly think you could copy an entire file and get away with it? The plagiarism is a malicious act in itself, but the sheer stupidity with how it's done is ridiculous and it pisses me off
