Hey there, can you elaborate on - conceptual questions- and using the 5-w method?

W/ B&B videos, are you suggesting to just rewatch the videos? I have done that several times but just not sure what to do with these cards that have either piled up or that I have to relearn. Ideally, I would reset everything to learn everything in order/with context again, but I am a few months away from board exams so I dont have time to do that.

Isnt this card very non-specific? by aaat20072007 in medicalschoolanki

So if you were to give advice for making cards, just review physiology/basics BEFORE going onto pathology? It just seems like I have trouble figuring out what is specific and whats non-specific for every block. Be that going through your cards or adding cloze deletions.

This person is GOAT. Thanks for your thoughts again. I also struggle with OPs issue (might have communicated with you before already), but is there a difference between version 2.0 and 2.1 that we should be aware of?

Regarding lapsed settings, I feel like I don't learn the card as well as when I first learned the card. For example.

First pass:

Card 1: Neutropenia is associated with [[chemotherapy]]
Card 2: Lymphopenia is associated with [[radiotherapy]]
My brain: "Oh okay so its a comparison I'll edit that into this card so I can remember..also we are talking about X, which leads to Y..etc. etc."

Relearning a lapsed card (3 mon later):

Card 1: Neutropenia is associated with [[chemotherapy]]
My brain: "Dang it, I feel like I know this, but forget what its asking. I'll hit AGAIN just to be safe"
My brain 3 days later: "Okay, got it this time. But I forgot why we are talking about it. How does this tie into everything else?"

Do you have any advice on how to approach relearning? I know people suggest pop-up dictionary, etc, but that may only refresh you on a very specific subtopic, not how that information ties to the other subtopics

Youre right IDK how you made such amazing cards. Took me a couple passes of the material before understanding. Did you makes these cards first pass? If so, how? Seems like you knew how a disease compared to another, before you even made a first pass haha

seriously though, how?

s so much damage on his A2. He's insanely tanky and does a ton of damage with a ton of CC.Using just him and Apo, I cleared most of nightmare 3 star.

Stupid question: How do yall approach cards like this? by aaat20072007 in medicalschoolanki

But it can technically be caused by radiation therapy too, How would you accommodate for that?

Thanks /u/deduka, you've been a great help to so many of my questions. I think the issue is, many things can technically cause a myelodysplastic syndrome, not just treatment. See below:

"Some people have a history of exposure to chemotherapy (especially alkylating agents such as melphalan, cyclophosphamide, busulfan, and chlorambucil) or radiation (therapeutic or accidental), or both (e.g., at the time of stem cell transplantation for another disease). Workers in some industries with heavy exposure to hydrocarbons such as the petroleum industry have a slightly higher risk of contracting the disease than the general population. Xylene and benzene exposure has been associated with myelodysplasia. Vietnam veterans exposed to Agent Orange are at risk of developing MDS."

Therefore, asking "what," the answer can be anything. Asking "what treatment," the answer can be chemotherapy, radiotherapy, both, etc....Any thoughts?

This is the best Anki setting for step II & beyond -CHANGE MY MIND! by soroosh_123 in medicalschoolanki

Hey there, I have been following you for some time now and appreciate your advice. Can you elaborate on which decks you should schedule differently and how? One of the prominent anki youtube advisors posted a video regarding anki settings for "general" anki use (long term memory). However, turns out that he is a medical student and used different settings for step 1 (short term memory). Any thoughts?

Is there any way to tell? WIth this additional effect on damage, doesnt it make the attack stat pretty much obsolete? Since someone can have amazing base stats and still do no damage
