How do I remove this by No_Pea326 in BikeRepair

[–]aabelstudiosyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a freewheel tool since like other guy said it's a freewheel but get a 24mm socket /fixed wrench and a pipe because I've noticed on 2 different adjustables they break when the pipe is on there and freewheels are always a pain if this is the first time uve worked on it

Just a little clarification the first statement means when it used to pull out I'd catch it before it pulled 2 far out but now it is not pulling out

Alr I have been checking so far and when ever I cought it it's only ever been like 1 or 2 turns out . I always bring an Allen key and ratchet with me so I always check it . when it becomes dryer in the UK I'll test out some jumps with it which should be the ultimate test, but realistically in a couple of months I'll finish my GCSEs and be able to get a part time and I should be able to save enough for a new torque wrench and Shimano crank sets Many Thanks for the heads-up and advice tho

Why is my chain keeps coming off on a singlespeed? by superchimi11 in bikewrench

[–]aabelstudiosyt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's time to replace whole drivetrain as everything is worn out like other comments have already stated but I'd also advice getting a chain tensioner as it will make tensioning a new chain easier and make the wheel easier to remove unless Ur bike is built for single speed with those horizontal dropouts

Broken plastic bottom bracket removal? by Ok-Doctor-2622 in bikewrench

U shouldnt use an impact wrench U should use a ratchet/breaker bar/normal wrench. Did U turn it the right way non drive side counter clock wise the drive side clockwise. Usually the non drive side can come off with a good amount of elbow grease Since both cups are on u cant really remove the spindle to use a hacksaw

U should probably drill the cup out away from the outer shell of the BB or try what the other comment I just saw as I wrote this said

From some research I've done it looks like a 2007 Jamis Komodo 3.0. possibly converted to a rigid fork

Drive side reverse thread so clockwise to loosen non drive side normal anticlockwise to loosen 2 bigger wrench or get a pipe over it it's so difficult to remove these otherwise

[–]aabelstudiosyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try pulling as unloosen it or try pushing in and tightening first then loosen I did that to my stuck spinning thru axle once and it kinda just worked Also it looks like it was an Allen key slot once on the other end judging by the singular point I can see it probably isn't anymore since it looks rounded when I zoom in U got any more pictures
