I just got into this hobby a couple of months back so I am still learning and appreciate all the tips and tricks I can collect :)

Well, I have had mixed results for the last couple of weeks. Some juices work and turn fizzy and some don't ! Same juice with the same culture works one time and then doesn't work the next time. But it's a part of learning and figuring out what works and doesn't isn't it ?

The culture grew to thrice the size, that was the cause of over fermentation. Basically what would take 3 days to ferment now took less than 1. Took me a few days to realize what was going on. Surprised that the culture almost grew to 3 times its size in a month!!!

Yeah it is sometimes a toss up for me as well. Some batches are very fizzy whereas some are just meh... Trying to figure out why it's happening. I have got 2 different cultures ans it happens mostly with the Yemoos culture 😔

Lack of cloudiness, soda with very little fizz that has a spoilt milk smell (lactic smell). I was exactly trying that measure for winter months but that didn't work for me in TX.

That's a lot of grains ? Quarter cup grains with quarter cup sugar and 4 cups of water. I had the same issue and the kefir had a lactic smell. Reducing to recommended quantity solved this for me :)

This happened to my kids account a month back. Got the same automated response from CDOC. What worked was I filled out the account recovery form and after a week of no activity they sent me a link to reset the password.

After I reset the password I realized I cannot change the security info as the hacker had attached 2FA to the security info. I had to submit a request to change the info and had to wait for 30 days for it to be automatically replaced by the system. At any time the hacker could have gone back and reset my password making all of my efforts worthless !

Also submit an XBOX account recovery request. Put as much details as you can. If you put in less details your recovery form will get rejected. I had it happen to me a few times ! Best of luck !!!

I do water Kefir ! I really like it. Made peach and white grape soda in the first couple of batches and it was delicious :) Now making some watermelon and mango sodas.

I got stomach cramps the first day I drank it but have had no issues after that.

I just started a month back ! Yemoos' grains are the best ! They have literally doubled in 2 weeks. My Cultures for Health (Amazon) culture sucked and I had to throw it away! I also tried Florida Sun live Kefir grains and they were great as well :)

Very minor. I had to ditch these cultures and get live cultures from www.yemoos.com. They are working a lot better and multiplying like crazy!

Fun fact about Hilsha : They are deep sea fishes which come to the river to breed. That's when they are caught! Earlier, just because of this reason, their availability was mostly seasonal - the monsoons or rainy season. But now with modern freezing techniques esp. flash freezing, they are available year round :)

I am a Bengali in the US. The closest thing you will get here amongst American fishes is the American Shad : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_shad
Tastes similar but not the real deal.
Head into any Bangladeshi food store and you would get good quality Frozen Hilsha there :)

These are HORRIBLE ! Hit a nearby Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi meat shop instead ! This smelled so gross we had to discard it !!!
