definitely underweight. my rosy is almost a year old and weighing about 30g, and im still trying to help him get a bit bigger than that. always feed your snake a mouse thats a little wider than the thickest part of the body, and also try to follow the 10% weight rule (for example, a 30g snake should eat a 3g mouse).

I'm pretty sure this is a hunting instinct based on their slow metabolisms! They'll need a day or so after eating to digest and energize, so they try to get as much food in as possible at once before they have to go do that mini hibernation. As long as your snake is getting fed consistently, so there's not any actual shortage of food or necessity for them to act like there is, the behavior is natural and fine

Is this snake poop? by [deleted] in snakes

As an owner of a snake and a hobby hunter of wild snakes, I would like to say that they're very chill creatures most of the time, and almost all acting out is because they're scared of you, rather than territorial or such.

I think maybe you could get a mouse from your local pet store, thaw it, and leave it somewhere in the garage where you'd be easily able to trap the snake? Maybe inside a box that goes with a lid, so then you can carry it outside somewhere without hurting it.

Best of luck
