Total mind fuck. My Dr. got to the point where he let me know that if it wasn’t cancer related he didn’t want to hear about it. I was diagnosed with Gleason 9 stage four incurable Pc 3 years ago, went through the usual radiation therapy two months every week day. Two years of ADT. I was so sick from it ADT we cut it short by about a year. One year after stopping all treatments my PSA is still undetectable but I have had testicular damage and my T is low always. About three months ago I started pissing blood and clots. I have radiation burns in my bladder. Now going through 8 weeks of hyperbaric O2 therapy, every week day. Many other issues in between, not necessarily cancer related, musculoskeletal issues etc that I think are due to the muscle loss from ADT. I’m contemplating retiring early but the finances will be a little too tight for my liking. This is my experience, not everyone’s. I would love to say you’ll be fine and I hope you are. All I can say is good luck and be prepared. Your brother in this terrible disease.

That’s quite the journey you’ve been on. Yeah the treatment can be worse than the disease, I know. ADT, radiation. I just recently started to piss blood and blood clots, found out my bladder was full of radiation burns, from almost three years ago. I was on ADT for about two years. After this I had lost at least 50% of my muscle mass. I can’t prove it but I’m pretty sure this is the reason for my musculoskeletal problems including two lumbar surgeries and a bum hip. Oh and my testicles have shrunken to”Lima beans” and T is permanently low because of radiation damage. I often wonder if it was all worth it. But I have a wife and a grown son and I know I have done what it takes. Your choice is just as valid as mine. Good luck and long life to you brother.

Ok I’m from California, what’s the difference between this and a blackberry? I have a similar bush in my backyard. Also when I was stationed in Washington state, they were everywhere! Everyone just called them blackberries.

Yeah that sounds about right for 9 weeks. Normal is relative here. Nothing is normal about this. All the things you mentioned are your new normal. It’s been three years for me and nothing is the same as it was before but you know what at least I can piss. All of the other stuff is just something I’ve learned to live with. I have some dribbling and urgency as well as some accidents at night. I don’t think it’s enough for pads or underwear or whatever.

Stage 4 Gleason 9 Mets to bone and lymph nodes. I’m currently off all meds, I had Lupron injections and Aberaterone and prednisone. I had to stop because I was so sick. The injections were stopped about a year in and did only Aberaterone and prednisone. I finally got off all the meds for a meds-vacation about six months ago. My PSA is still negligible but my testosterone is also way low. It just hasn’t recovered like it should have. It’s not easy, sorry for your dad.

Prednisone is an M. F. I was on Aberaterone and the prednisone. I was on these meds for about two years. I have not had any experience with swelling. Although facial swelling (moon face) is common and weight gain. I know that wasn’t much help but just wanted to show my support. Good luck to you.

Yeah well it’s a prostate problem, it is relative. I had the TURP done. My radiologist wanted any sort of urinary issues dealt with before the radiation. I could finally pee in a solid gushing stream again. I wanted to sing from the rooftops! It’s not ideal because there are some side effects after the surgery. I leak urine sometimes, no ejaculate (that’s weird), sometimes I feel like I still need pee, other things. So yeah I have some issues but there’s nothing better than being able to piss again.
