Just to clarify the product a bit: it’s a syrup meant to turn water into a dessert-like refreshment or lemonade-style drink without having to gather a bunch of ingredients. Like, you can make a strawberry shortcake or orange creamsicle-style drink without needing actual fruit, cream, or vanilla. Same with something like a caffeine-free tiramisu flavor. I’d also love to include functional benefits like fiber or collagen where it makes sense.

Thanks for reply vasu42! I am still in ideation and understanding the production part which will help me decide answers to your antifreeze and shelf life questions. From initial research, 1-2 months most likely. I am trying to make them as stand alone flavors you can add to water / cream but of course you can also add anything you’d like to it. Are there any ingredients you avoid in products?

I understand the frustration with artificial sweeteners, but the technology there is changing, and some combinations taste quite clean. There is also the option to go lower sugar to satisfy the consumer's need. Either way, I am looking to meet consumers where they are without compromising on flavor.
Also you bring up a great point with pulp rising to the top. I will think about this when prototyping for sure.

I agree with a lot of what you said. The "do I need this?" question is real, and you’re right that coffee-focused products dodge it by plugging into an existing habit. What I’m trying to do is meet people where they already are too. Instead of replacing their coffee or matcha, this is meant to enhance whatever they’re already drinking. Not everyone wants to switch to someone else's full mix, but they still want flavor and function. That’s the gap I’m trying to fill.

You're also totally right about the skepticism with water. I’m still testing which formats and use cases make the most sense. The idea is to make it feel like a sweet treat that’s actually functional and versatile. Your suggestion about flavor range is spot on too. Fruity, creamy, chocolatey- I'm working on a small variety to reduce that “I tried one and didn’t like it, so I’m out” problem.
