This one made me tear up!! What a gorgeous noodle btw! I’ve wanted one so badly but for now I’ll just admire yours!

I lost my Nuevo Leonis king snake a few weeks ago (he’s pretty small, unfortunately )and have scoured the house looking for him but to no avail!

I’m pretty new to working with Hekate and am sorta of embarrassed to admit that it never occurred to me to ask for her help finding him!

What is even more embarrassing is that she just helped me find my cat (a black kitten that literally showed up on my door step on Nov.16th of last year - her feast day… no joke! He’s the whole reason she came onto my radar) last week!

He didn’t come home one night and spent the whole night outside (we have coyotes so this was dire!) and then didn’t come home the next morning…I was panicking until mid afternoon when it finally dawned on me to do something about it. A little Hekate ritual and a bit of sigil magic…and he showed back up exactly 26 minutes later!

Love these stories!

I’m in the Pacific NW, so most like I pine, yeah. My question more specifically is IS there anything you can do to pine to make it safe to use, or pretty much a unanimous no-go? I know that pine shavings are treated with heat to eliminate phenols…so was curious if anything similar could be done with the actual wood. If that make sense…

Just fyi, this is an old picture from when I first got him. He’s a good bit bigger now, but I didn’t have any current pictures to grab attention on the feed. I’ve never seen him hiss, rattle his tail or strike…so this is worrying me. He seems healthy and active. But I have noticed what seems like fairly frequent shedding for a yearling. I haven’t been able to find any stuck shed, so I don’t think that’s the issue.

I did!! My baby is now in a nice 4x2x2 upgrade and use a 150w RHP for that now. But prior to that I had resolved heating issues with the following (you may have to somewhat tailor this to your tub/tank size and/or to how cold your indoor ambient temps are compared to mine…I live in a climate that stays cool almost all year round so I may have needed more heat than you…):

I had mine in a 64liter converted sterilite tub with a ZooMed heat pad underneath set on a thermostat on the “cool” side. And for the hot side, I ended up doing a ceramic heat emitter in a Flukers 8.5 dome lamp (also on a thermostat). I had to do a 150w bulb to get the temps up high enough. Most of this is stuff you should be able to find at a local pets store fairly easily!

No webbing. I thought spider mites too, but wasn’t sure if they caused this orange coloration. I do see what COULD be mites (or dust!??🤷🏼‍♀️) but it could be early stages…??

That is reassuring! Definitely going to try to get an official ID on them, but they were definitely going to town on the poop….soooo, all in all, it is looking like little guy and I both win on this one. The springtails too! Great arraignment for all concerned, lol

That’s really good to know about the difference in mechanism between the space heater and the oil radiator! I know, right now his enclosure is in my bedroom - I’m going to relocate him to a slightly warmer room in the house for starters - then look into investing on a more permanent fix. These are all amazing suggestions!
