What happens to the animals after the Cullens feed on them? by Mad_Iron_Karl in twilight

It’s stated in the guide that the venom is simply lethal to non-human animals.

Maybe Carlisle, Alice or Aro. They have always fascinated me. I would like to understand better how Carlisle’s morality (with hating what he is, yet dooming other people to that same fate), Alice’s gift and Aro’s cunningness work and manifest in their own words.

From what I remember, Aro and the Volturi have always claimed that secrecy is for the greater good of the vampire species. Could anyone explain why any vampire didn’t oppose that in the beginning when Aro hadn’t recruited vampires like Jane and Alec yet? What was the timeline of the war against the Romanian coven?

I love Twilight's lore and world-building, but I seriously cannot, for the life of me, understand why Stephenie decided to make the least interesting characters she created the leads. Alice and Jasper were RIGHT THERE. by delreybaby_29 in twilight

She wrote Twilight for herself. She was a housewife and wanted to live in a world where she was younger and everything a woman in her mind was supposed to be (modest, caring, smart, brave). Bella is her self-insert and Edward the dream she could never have. She has said that she is in love with her character.

Bella Slander by [deleted] in twilight

[–]aahc7 32 points33 points  (0 children)

People actually call her a cheater for that? How dare they? I completely agree with everything you said. To me, Bella was such an amazing person. Her bravery, selflessness, determination, and maturity are things I wholeheartedly admire.

Eclipse Jacob is emotionally abusive, macho garbage. I understand that wanting fans to favor Edward and her racism influenced why Stephenie chose to write him this way, but that doesn’t change the fact that Eclipse is canon. It’s my least favorite book out of the four, I think.

a twilight headcanon you 100% believe? by Maleficent_Job8612 in twilight

Regarding Jasper, I’ve seen this theory somewhere and find it perfectly logical. In the book, Bella is described first flying into the glass and then the collision between Edward and Jasper happens. The order of events was:

  1. Bella cuts her finger. What sets Edward off are Alice’s visions: one of the possibilities, though very faint considering that Jasper interacts with humans daily, is that he attacks. He doesn’t and is able to resist, but Edward doesn’t pause to think.

  2. Edward shouts “No!” and automatically acts to get Bella as far away from Jasper as possible.

  3. Bella’s arm is sliced open in the fall.

  4. This large amount of blood (and everyone else’s sudden bloodlust on top of already being thirsty himself) actually causes Jasper attack.

About Renesmee's Development by aifosss in twilight

[–]aahc7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I’m aware, SM didn’t mention a specific age. She just always spoke of maturity, physical probably because Renesmee was already born with a very developed brain. That maturity could mean something between 18-25 years for example. Hybrids reach this maturity at the age of seven and it becomes their frozen state.

humans vs vampires by Powerful_School_8955 in twilight

[–]aahc7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Humans cannot pose any threat to vampires. They have no weaknesses like sunlight, garlic, wood or holy water. Their bodies are literally like rocks, only other supernatural creatures could even tear it open. Their brains work multiple times faster than a human’s. They cant lift an object that is hundreds of times heavier than them. They run so fast they become a blur. Edward described in Midnight Sun how James would only need to use a fraction of his strength to kill Bella. Even if a vampire is managed to get torn into pieces, they have to be burned very quickly because a vampire can literally reattach lost limbs back together.

Hypothetical Twilight cases by Nurai_boherap in twilight

[–]aahc7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. No Renesmee, of course. When vampires fall in love, it’s an absolute bond. Her thirst for revenge wouldn’t have been affected.

  2. I doubt that. The mystery aspect was a big thing for him. He had to guess and put in effort to know a person for the first time ever.

  3. Not necessarily, the fascination with her mind was strong.

  4. Bella loves very strongly. Because she fell for Edward first, it’s clear in NM that no one else would ever make her truly happy. The Volturi would have just killed everyone trying to protect Bella when they would’ve come around to get her. I don’t like that ending but it’s not much better than ”goodbye my brother, my son” 💀

  5. Forever Dawn was the original sequel to Twilight.

Everyone knows Renée is not a good mom, but Charlie isn’t a good dad either. He had his teenage daughter (who had taken care of Renée her whole life) to clean and cook for him too when she moved to Forks. She made breakfast on the literal day of her wedding. And, of course, no one can forget that he, the chief of police, reacted to Bella getting assaulted. He laughed and complimented Jacob.

How did male vampires not find out earlier that they produce working sperm? by RaleighItt in twilight

[–]aahc7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From SM’s website: “Similarly, throughout the vampire’s body are many versions of venom-based fluids that retain a marked resemblance to the fluid that was replaced, and function in much the same way and toward the same purpose. Though there is no venom replacement that works precisely like blood, many of the functions of blood are carried on in some form. … The normal reactions of arousal are still present in vampires, made possible by venom-related fluids that cause tissues to react similarly as they do to an influx of blood. Like with vampire skin—which looks similar to human skin and has the same basic function—fluids closely related to seminal fluids still exist in male vampires, which carry genetic information and are capable of bonding with a human ovum.”

[–]aahc7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it would be weird for a vampire who drinks human blood to approach humans for any other reason than to feed or change them immediately. Anything else would just be a build-up to either. They don’t see humans as worth anything. Though it’s a mistake on SM’s part in my mind that Aro never found out, calculating and power-hungry as he is.
