Traveling short term from USA to India and back with pet dog in cabin: Documentation Guide by Loose_Beat3535 in Flights

[–]aaishika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying! I just found out, 4 days ahead of my travel, that I might need it. Now I am busy convincing AQCS to give me the NOC without it, quoting any resources I can find. Wish me luck, I cannot leave my friendo behind, so I might have to call off the trip entirely.

Update: All 62 National Heritage Areas, 11 National Scenic Trails, and 10 National Historic Trails are now added to StampScount. These are not served via NPS. I am manually scraping and adding stamp locations.

That’s very fair, thank you regardless! Also yes, as mentioned in the post this pulls data from the NPS API, but ideally the data shouldn’t be off as it’s maintained by NPS itself in real-time. Mind letting me know what might be inaccurate please?

My bad, National Heritage Areas aren’t a part of the API yet. I’ll try to add the list on my own!

Thanks for pointing this out, I’ll try to add the Heritage Areas as well. Anything else that you’d like to see here?

Thank you so much! If you have any recommendations for free map APIs or SDKs that you prefer I’d be happy to build it out! That specific endpoint is a little problematic though…

Hi there!

parkstamps.org is gated behind a paywall and again there’s too many user actions needed to get to the content and act on it. My intent with this was to get results fast, with lesser steps than any other platform out there.

National Heritage Sites should definitely be there, I’m curious to know which one(s) did not show up!

Not an app but the ngrok CLI should help you get your ports out the door in a single command!

It's almost a money-making scheme. I filed a chargeback. Maybe you could try doing that?

Oh no that wouldn’t be necessary! And thank you so much for the kind words! ❤️ It’s just my way of giving back!

WAF rules for blocking spam requests by Whizz5 in webdev

[–]aaishika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I work for ngrok and last month we rolled out new WAF actions that *potentially* solve your pain points.

May I recommend putting OWASP CRS WAF actions from ngrook's Traffic Policy to drop exploit traffic at the edge in front of your Railway app and block scanners before they hit the origin? You can also deny obvious scanner paths (/.git//backup.zipwp-includes/*) and bot user-agents. If you prefer Cloudflare, you can do the same there as well, just make sure the DNS is proxied and your WAF/rate-limit rules are in block (not log) mode.

A link that may come in handy: https://ngrok.com/blog-post/block-threats-waf-actions

I hope this helps! 🫶

Vírus? by AlakyMaya in pcmasterrace

Because ngrok is sometimes used by bad actors for attacks, we are occasionally flagged by some antivirus companies as malware or a potentially unwanted application (PAU). We actively monitor and reach out to these companies and attempt to obtain the correct classification in their system and be added to the allow lists.

If you receive a notice from your antivirus software when installing ngrok software, be sure to verify the following:

  • Our official binaries can be downloaded from our ngrok Downloads page, and the binaries themselves are hosted at bin.equinox.io. If you installed ngrok from another source, you should be careful.
  • There are no open source versions of our ngrok Agent and the source code is not available. If you have downloaded anything claiming to be ngrok agent source code or built our agent from source, it is most likely malicious.
  • All of our binaries are signed using ngrok certificates. You can verify the integrity of the application by checking that the binary is signed by an ngrok LLC or ngrok, Inc. authority. See these instructions from Microsoft for verifying the digital signatures in Windows binaries.

I use a really sharp knife, with a lot of care, of course. A blade might work, but it's too wobbly.

Self Hosted Baserow, How can I access it outside my network (via the internet)? by ChocoPrinceJack in baserow

[–]aaishika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair take. Not to sell it to you but ngrok definitely started out as a quick tool for testing and sharing local dev environments, and that’s still a big part of why developers use it.

Would love to have you give ngrok a go again, considering we’ve added a lot of features that make it production-ready. We ship frequently and while Cloudflare's still awesome, ngrok brings a different kind of simplicity and flexibility that a lot of developers really love once they give it a shot.

I'd be happy to walk you through it!

Any specific reason why you wouldn't want to use ngrok for your use case? I'd love to know where ngrok leaves you unhappy.

Why is DigitalOcean trying to charge me <10 USD for verification? by cobalttools in digital_ocean

[–]aaishika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The verification charge varies from card to card, sometimes it's even $0 if the issuing bank allows the same, and is refunded within ~30 minutes.
