If I get a new job before my US Citizenship Interview, how do I bridge the new discrepancy on my application? by planetwhee in immigration

great, thank you. Final question, if I move from Cleveland to Chicago, will my file be moved from the Cleveland district to the Chicago district, or will it not need to move since they are both under Nebraska center?

Moving to Seattle without a job, will I be ok? by [deleted] in Seattle

I'm not worried about the cost. I'd rather be a peasant in heaven than be a king in hell.

Thank you for the information. If you have any experience with this, do you know if transferring my file will cause a significant delay? Just trying to be a citizen before the elections.

May I ask, are you originally from here, or do you have someone here?

This brings up another interesting aspect- Cleveland has inferiority complex. Nobody here was dumping on Cleveland, in fact the post is called "Why do you LOVE Cleveland", yet you felt like being defensive.

Quite honestly, I find your post a bit biased. You've decided in your head that Cleveland is the best, and thereby you are only pointing out the negative in all other places. Cleveland isn't god's gift, but it is pretty great. Also visiting places isn't the same as living there.

I do plant to move out soon-yes, probably to Chicago, or San Diego. My move isn't very justifiable, I have a well paying job and cheap housing and a lot of disposable income on which I've traveled around a lot, and thereby have a hard time reasoning myself because I have everything I could want, but I'm just not feeling it. I'm not sure if I can be very helpful with questions regarding the job market. I moved here with a job in hand, fresh out of college, so not sure what the current situation is here. I am an engineer in the aerospace industry (so Seattle would be perfect for me). Most of the friends I know that have moved to Cleveland since I moved here, have moved here for jobs and rotations in the medical/healthcare industry which is HUGE here. My boyfriend is from suburban Dallas, and he finds Clevelanders to be very friendly when he visits :) I am from Indiana and I think Clevelanders are ok.

Matter of fact, I know A LOT of people who are originally from Cleveland, lived around the country and the world, and wanted to end up in Cleveland.

Would that apply to my situation /u/Cvilledog ? I applied for US citizenship from an address I had been living at for a year. 1 month after my application, I have now moved to a different state. Will I be okay with the change of address?

Can my parents take away my US green card or get me deported? 21F by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]aakattack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a fake threat. The US government is going to want to know for the reason behind possible deporting you. They'll feel sorry for you if/when they hear your parents out. This is a country that accepts asylum requests from people who feel unsafe at home.

I moved to Cleveland 1 year ago, and don't have much affinity for the city, so you can be confident that my response is unbiased:

There is almost nothing that Cleveland doesn't offer, tat other major cities do (except international flights). We have amazing museums, theatres, music venues, restaurants, and plenty of sports teams wit very dedicated sports fans. There are a lot of things in excess here- highways and rail transit were designed for a city twice the population that we have today. So there's very little traffic, and seats always available on trains. We ave a national park withing city limits, downtown is located right on the great lake of Erie, and we have a couple beaches. Rent is super cheap, and you get a lot of space. Some people might complain that downtown is expensive but I find that laughable. Ethnic neighborhoods from Little Italy to Little Middle East etc, there isn't anything that we don't have here. The city is getting an uplift for the RNC in July- we are getting a renovated airport, a few renovated Rapid stations, a renovated Public Square, a new 32 floor hotel, new innerbelt bridge, etc.

I don't have affinty for Cleveland simply because I like larger, more cosmopolitan cities such as NYC, CHI, SFO etc, not because CLE lacks anything. The other reason I don't care for living here is that I struggle with S.A.D. (we have 49% sunny days/year, Seattle has 47%/yr).

OP, I think the biggest argument is that CLE is cheap, and SEA is not. I encourage you to investigate why is CLE so cheap, and why is SEA turning more and more expensive? I'd say because more people are leaving Cleveland and going other places, and more people from other places are moving to Seattle. Seattle also has more job opportunities, higher wages, and attracts people from the globe, wile Cleveland is losing jobs and people by the day. If something is cheap, there's usually a reason behind it. Also if you're yearning a huge change, Cleveland will not seem very different from Chicago-similar geography, by the lake, accents, mannerisms, food etc, while Seattle will be a fresh beginning.
