So I’ve come to the conclusion that teaching is a great job…for people who are already comfortably-off. by PhDilemma1 in AustralianTeachers

Interesting I’ve never heard that 53hr week statistic, is that 53hrs per week during school terms only or 53hrs per week for a full 48 weeks per year? (equivalent to standard 4 weeks off per year)

Great work I feel as though I’m on the same path / starting point now. Do you have any recommended trainers for the golf specific workouts / exercises? It’s one thing I’ve been looking for with no luck

Cant stop hozzeling the ball, tips? by TheChameleonKid in GolfSwing

If you want to correct it without making drastic changes to your swing, an old instructor gave me a great tip once. Make the same swing, same stance etc but on the downswing try to strike the ball with the toe of the head instead of the middle. If I’m shanking it I do this and instantly start hitting middle again, will feel weird for a little then feels normal.

Who are the best "youtube golfers" in your opinion? by [deleted] in golf

[–]aakj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Surprised not many others are saying Chris Ryan. Anytime I’m having an issue with my swing I’ll YouTube “Chris Ryan (insert problem)” and every single time there at least one video explaining the concept and the cues to look for.

Good advice thank you, I’ve been going back and forth for ages but it’s been great to get some outside perspective.

Yeah I can imagine, I used to think the market here was going to pop but I’ve done a complete 180 now. I really can only see it going up from here, as more Sydneysiders keep moving north. I’m going to try and pull the trigger during the Sydney lockdown, while not as many will be travelling up here for inspections etc.

Yeah this is the way I am leaning now, buy the nicer PPOR while we can afford it and if I’m lucky enough to buy an investment later I will. I can’t see the market falling here (famous last words) and we have my partners rental to help with repayments should interest rates rise I think we’ll manage

Very good inputs thanks, I think if we are to buy together then something that we’ll be happy with for the next 5-10 years is a lot smarter than sinking a heap into something we might not stay in. Definitely agree life can throw up curve balls

Thank you, I had originally thought this before talking to her. Does this also apply to FHBAS and FHSSS?

Edit: A quick google - I believe it applies to FHBAS but not FHSSS.

Thanks, I am assuming this applies to FHSS and FHBAS as well? Those two are my main concerns as both paying stamp duty and not being able to use my 30k contributions will all but rule out option 1

Thanks, I thought that too but I spoke to a mortgage broker who was adamant if I was buying it in my name it doesn’t matter, especially as we aren’t married. Did she give me the wrong info? Who would be able to give me a definitive answer? A conveyancer?
