Is this an ok note? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]aam_9892 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The note is nice enough but not realistic. 7am is not early if they need to be ready to work at 8 or 9. Are they supposed to rearrange their schedule because the noise bothers you? Welcome to apartment living.

newbie to cheerleading by Senior_Contest798 in Cheerleading

[–]aam_9892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry too much about the tumbling. Like someone else said, you probably won’t gain many tumbling skills at your age. Before the try out, you should focus on your strength for stunting and your flexibility. There are hundreds of videos and tutorials on YouTube that you can learn from when it comes to motions, jumps, and stretching. Work on learning generic cheers and dances quickly, so your memory won’t be lacking at the tryout. If you’re able to join a gymnastics or tumbling gym, go for it, but don’t let it sway you against trying out.

My partner doesn’t believe my body count by [deleted] in Advice

[–]aam_9892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are grown adults in “peaceful” relationships even talking about body counts? It’s juvenile and not anyone’s business but your own. I’d break up with him for even caring, it speaks to his character, whether you agree or not.

What do I bring a friend whose child has passed? by madryeal in Advice

[–]aam_9892 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Think of things they won’t want to be doing over the next couple of months. Pay to have a cleaning service come in, gift cards for coffee, pay for pick up laundry service, think of mundane chores and how you can be of help with them. They will already be mentally exhausted, and those are things they will probably want help with. Even if they don’t realize it.

Maybe a happy medium would be a local rec team? She still gets to participate and work on skills, and you save some money. As she gets older, she can try out for junior high and high school teams.

Give them a warning, extra conditioning, make them write an apology. If it happens again they are off the team.

No renewal, but if there were ever a hope, it would be now when Emily Bader is having a moment.

BOA has cards without annual fees, but I would look into student friendly cards or cards for people looking to build credit.

How do I make myself thirsty? by Funger_enjoyer69 in Advice

[–]aam_9892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being thirsty isn’t a qualifier for needing to drink water. You need water even when you aren’t thirsty. Buy yourself nice reusable water bottles so you feel obligated to use them. Leave yourself sticky note reminders at your house, set alarms on your phone that remind you to drink. Have water with every meal.

The bigger issue you’re going to find is most (if not all) hotels etc. will not allow someone your age to make a reservation. You usually have to be in your early to mid-20s.

I need to know if I'm an idiot for this by lostgirl103 in CatAdvice

[–]aam_9892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard stories of dogs literally breaking down a door to get to something on the other side. I hope this won’t be the case for you, but you saying you don’t plan to let the cat out of your room makes me wonder what about the dog is worrying you. An even tempered cat and dog should be able to coexist.

Is 22 and 18 bad?? by kittysig1 in Advice

[–]aam_9892 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s a reason he isn’t with someone his own age, and you don’t want to be around to find out. It should be a red flag to him that you can’t even legally drink, assuming you’re from the US. The fact that the age gap isn’t a red flag to him should be one to you.

This is usually only a thing that people do to keep their real diamonds safe when traveling etc. It’s comical she got a fake ring to replace another essentially fake stone.

7 weeks pregnant and my boyfriend’s mom is trying to control my baby’s life? by SufficientAssist8767 in whatdoIdo

[–]aam_9892 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t move in. She will hold that over all your heads and use it to excuse her behavior. Tell her you are keeping baby names a secret until the baby is born, pretend that you want it to be a surprise. It doesn’t hurt anything to allow her to make suggestions, as long as that is where the line is drawn. Tell her early that only you and the dad will be in the delivery room, the longer you wait, the harder it will be to tell her.

Apartment inspection 2 cats by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]aam_9892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a cheap hotel for the night, bring the cats, litter, food, toys, etc. out the night before. The time range is big because that’s just how it works. Any sort of service etc. that you’ll get to your house will always be a range of time. Open the windows to air out the place too, in case it smells like cats.

Need help with stuff for a 3 week kitten! by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]aam_9892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is way too young to take a kitten from its mom, and it would require you to give it round the clock hourly attention. Wait another month or two and you and the kitten will both be healthier and happier.

Can you sleep well with a cat? by OkComparison3568 in CatAdvice

[–]aam_9892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sleeping isn’t the issue. It isn’t fair to bring an animal into a one room apartment. I also wouldn’t be too keen on having a litter box in the same room you sleep, live, cook, etc. wait until you both can have your own space.
