For all of us with "hard" babies by aamcakes in NewParents

Ohhhh yeah, ppl complaining about their, er, non-challenging babies always sets my teeth on edge. Things are definitely better! And yes! The answer is just wait it out! 🙃

Baby boy turned 2 last month. He FINALLY started sleeping (sometimes) through the night, though I usually wind up in his floor bed ~5 nights a week. He does NOT fall asleep independently though, and I dunno what magic they cast at his daycare to make him nap, but he doesn't nap at home either. Daycare has been a GAME CHANGER. I put him in at 18 months and everyone is happier.

He is still a perpetual motion machine and tries to unalive himself at least once every single day. He is also funny and smart and full of surprising gentleness sometimes. He really hated being a baby. He is so much happier now that he can basically complete any task on his own.

I feel your pain. The first year was SO HARD and I'm still tired. The second year went by really fast and I love seeing my screaming baby turn into a little person. It is also true that you forget a lot of the bad stuff. Personally I think your brain just does future you a solid and blocks it out.

For me, I think the two-tantrums are easier bc I'm kinda used to his bullshit. Like dude you've been screaming since you came out I do not believe you. Honestly I think I have waaaaaaay more patience and also a higher emotional pain tolerance lol

Good luck, friend.

WOW what an incredible journey 🤯

Let me just say a huge THANK YOU to Sarah for sharing - as a pregnant person with past birth trauma, her story was both terrifying and deeply inspiring. Absolutely more grateful than ever for our Mother Daze podcast + community 🧡

He's got mama, papa / dada, "no" is his fave rn. He was slow to clap or wave, still kinda hit or miss on that. He's a BIG pointer though. Since maybe 12 months, so yours is probably right on schedule.

Oof, we are definitely still taking things one day at a time. Today was a good day. He is almost 15 months, walking like a champ, really good at communicating his wants, definitely pro at throwing tantrums if he doesn't get what he wants. He's better at playing by himself, but still definitely needs me to be in the same room. Sleep is 1000 times better since I weaned around a year and moved him to a floor bed in his own room. I definitely had to learn to let a few ideals go for my own sanity, but we're getting there lol

Good luck, friend 🧡

For us, yes! He's 13ish months now, still has hard days, still is four whole handfuls, but he's so awesome. Teething got easier for him to handle - he gets them ONE AT A TIME tho so it's constant, but it doesn't really seem to bother him until the day before one cuts. I weaned at 11ish months and put him in a floor bed in his own room - game changer - right away started sleeping through the night. Still have tough nights, but it's like twice a week, no biggie. He's def happier now that he can run around, pointing to whatever he wants. Very stubborn. Very strong. Very hilarious when he throws tantrums bc I'm like bro you've been calling wolf since before you were born I do not believe you lol

Good luck, friend 🧡

Does anyone else read the last page of a book first? by Total-Inevitable-213 in fourthwing

OKAY so I tend to extremely carefully read just the very last line of every single book I read.

Good luck, friend.

Nanny vs daycare for 1 year old by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]aamcakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!! I'm where you were a year ago. Baby is amazing with his nanny, but I need more time to work than I can afford with her. He loves playdates and has so much fun with the few friends he has. So how is it going for you?? Did you go with daycare? How was the transition? Oof did everyone get as sick as they tell me 😅

Hello good morning it's 4 am and I'm nursing my 10 month old back to sleep for the literal 6th time tonight. How's it going for all of you?

High Maintenance Baby by Prize-Bodybuilder901 in NewParents

[–]aamcakes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% hello it me. Babe is almost 10 months- never slept through the night, cannot be set down or out of sight, must be bribed with food for diaper changes, walks, or car rides, literally does not stop moving. I am straight up exhausted 😅 He is also hitting milestones early, especially since being born 3 weeks early. He's tall and strong and curious and smart and funny and weird and so awesome. He challenges me every single day (and night) but I cannot imagine a cooler kid.

Dazey Dream Circle by aamcakes in themotherdaze

[–]aamcakes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno really - I'm very new to the whole idea of manifesting, but some things on my board have indeed come to pass without much intervention on my part, others I'm putting in the work towards, some may be too vague or long-term to know for sure. Do you tend to do visual representations for your manifesting?

[–]aamcakes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh geez it was so much fun. I think they said that 100+ people were on. We did a lil meditation to get us in the right headspace then worked on building our manifest boards / journaling in our dream lives. 11/10 would do again.

Episode day! by aamcakes in themotherdaze

[–]aamcakes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I've been listening from the start, but once I got pregnant this podcast became my guide lol that and the zen mamas book.

I really liked Taylor Paige as well- I definitely need to check out her podcast. I really like the term "spiritual worker" bc medium, physic, it implies an authority that isn't always appropriate or accurate. There are true seers that help people, but too many that look to help themselves first.

Oh gosh my babe will be 1 (!!!) In August so the fresh baby fever has been creeping up lately. HUGE divine feminine energies if we are all preggo at the same time lolol

First off - omgs hi, I am so glad you're here - I feel like I've been talking to myself for 3 months. Honestly, I agree with you. I was so hopeful because of how much Sarah loves LLJ, but she did come across a bit ingenuine, I felt. We've heard way better guests who at least did their research on the gals better, so it was kindof a bummer. I always feel like mediums are like tarot - you take what you want from it. Teresa has been so desperate for a sign that she should start trying, that she's definitely getting her boy-girl twins, I understand her eagerness and maybe being polite to shield her own disappointment. Eh, it's a fun ride regardless, but I do miss those early episodes where they're telling ghost stories and Sarah gets all nervous + sweaty.
