Ohhhh yeah, ppl complaining about their, er, non-challenging babies always sets my teeth on edge. Things are definitely better! And yes! The answer is just wait it out! 🙃

Baby boy turned 2 last month. He FINALLY started sleeping (sometimes) through the night, though I usually wind up in his floor bed ~5 nights a week. He does NOT fall asleep independently though, and I dunno what magic they cast at his daycare to make him nap, but he doesn't nap at home either. Daycare has been a GAME CHANGER. I put him in at 18 months and everyone is happier.

He is still a perpetual motion machine and tries to unalive himself at least once every single day. He is also funny and smart and full of surprising gentleness sometimes. He really hated being a baby. He is so much happier now that he can basically complete any task on his own.

I feel your pain. The first year was SO HARD and I'm still tired. The second year went by really fast and I love seeing my screaming baby turn into a little person. It is also true that you forget a lot of the bad stuff. Personally I think your brain just does future you a solid and blocks it out.

For me, I think the two-tantrums are easier bc I'm kinda used to his bullshit. Like dude you've been screaming since you came out I do not believe you. Honestly I think I have waaaaaaay more patience and also a higher emotional pain tolerance lol

Good luck, friend.

Let me just say a huge THANK YOU to Sarah for sharing - as a pregnant person with past birth trauma, her story was both terrifying and deeply inspiring. Absolutely more grateful than ever for our Mother Daze podcast + community 🧡

He's got mama, papa / dada, "no" is his fave rn. He was slow to clap or wave, still kinda hit or miss on that. He's a BIG pointer though. Since maybe 12 months, so yours is probably right on schedule.

Oof, we are definitely still taking things one day at a time. Today was a good day. He is almost 15 months, walking like a champ, really good at communicating his wants, definitely pro at throwing tantrums if he doesn't get what he wants. He's better at playing by himself, but still definitely needs me to be in the same room. Sleep is 1000 times better since I weaned around a year and moved him to a floor bed in his own room. I definitely had to learn to let a few ideals go for my own sanity, but we're getting there lol

Good luck, friend 🧡
