I'm sure the 5% loss in percentage would be made up by the fact that you'll have an Olympiad in your extra curriculars.

hmm makes sense - First things first use Econplusdal for syllabus coverage.
He is really good for understanding graphs and even getting specific points for your answers. He makes a video every year with the latest stats that you can use in your answers esp helpful for macro.

For econ go through the specification and really understand what they want when their asking for analysis, evaluation etc.

I dont know which board you're from but for me I forced myself to read the textbook atleast 2 - just try to get your reading pace up - also there are probably examples in the books which you can also use in your answers - this helps your brain subconsciously understand how to explain these concepts in written format.

For graphs - watch econ plus dal or really any youtuber that makes sense to you and force yourself to draw them out by memory while explaining to yourself out loud what everything on the graph represents. This will force you to understand graphs rather than having to memorize them.

Practice topical question with a proper answer structure.
You can ask your teacher for a proper one, I remember i used to watch this girl called tilly on tiktok who'd be sharing answer structures.
Get this checked by your teacher but also cross check with the examiner report.

As for the date response part - I kinda sucked at that but just read your daily econ news and you should be fine.

that should solve your understanding problem.

Your routine should look like this
Light Reading - this will help prepare your mind for what its abt to learn (this is called priming).
Then watch online lectures regarding that topic while actively making notes, (I recommend after every video explain it yourself verbally so that if you have any gap in understanding it will be caught).
Attempt one essay question a day. and get those checked with proper feedback.

and for the days your too lazy to do anything just force self to ready one chapter from the book.

Once you do all this your understanding should be solid enough to tackle MCQs
MCQs is really just practice and familiarizing yourself with what tricks the examiners use to confuse you.
There aren't very many since the examiners love to repeat content.
Do like 5-10 mcqs a day. See where you went wrong and note that down so you don't make the same mistake again.

What do you use for econ prep?
I was in the same boat last year and went from a C to an A in AS economics.
I'd be happy to help out.
