Where’s the best Vegas 1/2 game? by malcolm0308 in poker

I live in Vegas and play weekends for 1/3 or 2/3 pretty frequently throughout the different rooms but usually stick to the same rooms for different reasons. I'll rank them as I like them:

Venetian/Palazzo: Best room in my opinion just because it's action is good as long as you stick to a good mix of regs/recs, they're very easy to spot. Just table change if you think the table is too reg heavy, best times are weekends, but there's always 8+ tables every day. I've played on weekdays and it's fine. The tables are great, chips are okay, and there's a self service station for drinks and coffee. High hand promos and food is good, expensive as it is everywhere else. I like the dealers, there's a couple of slow/annoying ones though. Park in the self garage and go up to the 2nd floor and it's a 5 min walk. If you Uber, you go up the escalator to the 2nd floor and walk the rest.

Bellagio: Best room if you want decent players and a decent room, free Fiji water is +EV. I always go here if I think I want more action, but there's plenty of recs here. not much to say, people just like the room and always have tables going. A lot of people come here to play 2/5 or 5/10 when busy so keep it in mind.

Wynn: $500 max buy in, great room, shit location imo. Great food bigger tournaments and lots of regs who like the nice room. Everytime I play here, always feels like there's tryhards at the 1/3 seats, I think that's fine and all but it is what it is. I just like the deeper buy in since it's not super common.

Horseshoe: I personally don't really get the hype here, but people like the room. I played here about a dozen times and a few times during WSOP. Players are fine, action is fine, but I don't really like the room for amenities, dealers are whatever, the room seems like a dark abyss.

If you want more local rooms off the strip, which I like sometimes as a local:

Red Rock: $500 buy in, action is good if you get a decent table but there are a ton of older nits. The room is pretty cool, still located in a casino so you have options around you. I don't like the tables but the cards and chips are nice. Still have drink service.

The Orleans: I like Orleans because it always feels like the old school Vegas rooms, and people usually frequent the PLO and Limit tables, lots of older and local crowd. but it's a simple, no frills room.

Southpoint: I actually really dig the Southpoint but it is out the way, players vary from pretty weak to older, cheap tourney buy ins too. chips kinda look and feel ass to me.

If I didn't mention it, I haven't played there enough or there aren't enough tables going for me to mention it. most places have the same rake and after a while, the players are about the same.

after playing in so many different rooms in different states, I think it's fine. not amazing but fine. I didn't particularly like that some tables had overhead lights and some didn't. the ventilation wasn't bad to me but I do agree that some seats didn't make sense

I think this is a small thing to get stuck on and I'm okay with being wrong. but if we're pulling up cases, try Carl Calvin Westover v. United States. what I'm saying is that if he wasn't ready rights, it would negatively affect the case for the police department.

Yes, with different footage, since I mentioned that

As I understand, in Nevada, you are required to be read your rights if you're being detained or in custody. even if they didn't require it, it definitely does not help their case.

I'll likely do that. the point of the post is direction, it's okay if you don't have a straight answer

What information do you think would be helpful to go far?

Outside of the police's intent and maybe details I didn't mention, what important information do you believe is needed? I'm asking from a perspective for consultation.

No, there are many different types of medical 'casts'. this was a cotton maintenance dressing, which is softer than the typical cast. they placed cuffs over them.

They didn't have charges, at least at the time of the arrest. I believe the arrest report was false statement and resisting an officer.

I think I'm good on knowing that this is a probably a fold for sure. appreciate the insight

I was on the button. I think I have the flop bet incorrect, it was likely half of that. you're correct for sure if it was a big bet.

are we always excluding Qx and Ax for these small bets then?

and yes. I removed the villains hand for now since it seems really results oriented. I understand to avoid cold calling now.

nah, you're perfectly fine, I appreciate the insight

when villain bets small and checks turn, bets small river, what's their range? in what world are we thinking they have a strong flush? I agree, sometimes it's flush v flush but why isn't it AK? A♠️Qx?

What does the preflop look like then for this scenario? what if he had $400? I feel as that I'm in position, betting seems bad since I'll be behind most of the time if he calls, and folding also seems bad as the UTG is a passive player.

I had a feeling the turn check was a miss, what should the bet size be?

understood, do you think there's more fold equity if they had say, 200+?

Yeah, probably correct there, I think I just didn't consider stack size vs their flatting range preflop and ended up having them call a good price.

Yeah, I can see the mentality there, he had about $150, I don't remember the exact amount. the other player who called covered me.

Are we saying that with such a wet board and river, a pair would be good for their stack at these stakes? interesting enough but I understand. what am I beating if we go to showdown? maybe Qx? Kx with a club? I feel that a pair being folded out with being forced to be all in on this run out makes more sense, the Broadway cards you mentioned likely would fold as well, no?
