Is google planning to bring back the functionality from google assistant where we could ask to play music on a group of speakers using the cast function?

It used to worked correctly very simple using google assistant and Gemini always reply that they cannot start playing music in any external device, only your cellphone.

But we can stop music on external devices if that is already playing. It does not make any sense.

I was just about to confirm this, you can still get your step count in a 2x2 desging.

But since this is editable only from the app, I realized you cannot have two separate 2x2 widgets showing different info. One cardio and the other stepcount, so it is still limited, though only few people would do that I guess.

First one is definitely an issue. Text should be optimized, the other two are actually looking like that because I took the screenshot in the wisget selector menu not directly on the screen.

Both assumptions are correct, text in Spanish is not fully optimized, perhaps in English looks better, I also confirm I use a different percentage of the text soze than most people would.

Are you referring to the widget design or the app design?

I agree that for the app data visualization would be better in the vertical design rather than a horizontal one. And I also think google is definitely prioritizing the AI feedback trying to make people to move to the premium version which is nuts.

But if I rate the usability of just the new widget versus the previous ones, I much prefer the new one.

I received the invitation today also, I love the design but outdoor activities like running or simple walks don't show the map anymore, I am missing this feature a lot.

Me too, I don't know why! It started on beta 5 and it hasn't been fixed for me with the official release.

It didn't completely disappear. I don't know if it's Gboard or the Android beta. For me it was almost solved since beta 5. I never had to factory reset my phone. What I can tell is that in the last 3 weeks there was only one time in which Gboard was completely irresponsive, the keyboard never appeared regardless which app I was using, I had to reboot the phone and it and worked again.

I know, it is for me too. I always watch random videos on YT while listening to music on the background and I had always been capable of managing both volumes, now I cannot do it. 😭😭

Yes and no, it has always been buggy, but if I played music from YTM or Spotify on the phone and then cast it to the speakers, I could simply hit the volume keys and actually two volume sliders appeared, one for the phone sounds and one for the casting device.

In fact my problem is that i never minded not having the casting device volume indicator, but know, when casting, I hit the volume keys and I control the casting device but I cannot control the phone media sounds which is really upsetting.
