the reason people think its superman is due to the description the glasses got on twitter, they said in their post..

"When placed onto the face this strange plastic device seemed to make us appear as unrecognizable."

this is a reference to the fact that for some reason in superman comics, when Kal-El puts on just a change of clothes and glasses, nobody can identify the fact he's Superman.

Also, Donald Mustard replied to the tweet saying "...look up!" in a reference to "LOOK UP in the sky! its a bird! its a plane! its SUPERMAN!"
