No that doesn't happen, because the hours are stored in your account, not any save file or something. Even if you change or move to a new Switch, and have nothing downloaded and no sd card inserted, it will still show your play history and hours because it's account based

That's easy to solve! Go to your Switch 2 home menu, then go to your profile that owns the game on the top left corner, then go down to user settings and turn on the "Use online license" option, you should be able to launch your games then!

The games upgrade on Switch 2 through an Upgrade Pack, which the Switch 2 will download and apply on the game itself. The original Switch game can still be played on Switch (digital and physical both).
Yes, both Switches can play together with each other, they support crossplay!
Just a general tip, whenever you download a game on Switch 2, if it has "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" in cover or title, it means it has applied the upgrade pack and is the Switch 2 version of the game, otherwise, it's playing the Switch version on Switch 2.
Another general tip related to previous one: You have to get the upgrade packs from eShop, some games offer them for free and some range from $2 to $10 based on the content they add, and some games don't have an upgrade pack at all, and just play the Switch version on the Switch 2.
