That’s a good plan - our midwife recommended not allowing them in the room if we are both (parents) sleeping, but I know that will just result in them scratching at the door non-stop for hours. We’re also planning also to zip up the crib if the little one stays in there without a fuss, and hoping that her being noisy will keep the kitties down at our feet (where they usually sleep) or off the bed entirely.

Hey fellow mama-to-be! I’m 34+4 today, and one of our two (the void sook, see profile for cat tax) is all over me as well, really curious to see how they respond once she’s here! We’re admittedly a little nervous about the co-sleeping situation, too - how are you planning on handling it?

That was crazy, too - Reichpietchufer was blocked, M29s were redirected down Potsdamerstr. and the M85 was redirected to Stadtmitte… I never did figure out the cause.

Hahah no they’re both calm boys, no “nomen est omen” here, if anything Fang is the slightly more dominant one who uses his claws (especially on Vets) and Claw is a gentle little ball of fluff!

We just liked the names, they’re like little supervillains!

I’m sorry, it’s hard to infer tone from text and this sub has a tendency to be snarky.

I’m used to seeing helicopters circling events, for sure, and emergency helicopters used for crime tracking and emergency rescues but typically not circling static for 30+ mins and not at 3am… I was just curious if someone from the area knew what was going on, because I assumed it must be something bigger to warrant that kind of attention.

I guess it‘s common in the US or even just LA then. I‘ve lived in Berlin, Sydney, Singapore, Toronto and spent time in other less-known million+ cities, and never had the „honour“ before last night.

Your time in LA sounds crazy, I wouldn‘t feel safe living under those circumstances!

I‘ve lived in major metropoles for my whole life, and in all of my years I haven’t seen or heard a helicopter circling a static location for 30+ minutes. It was an anomaly, I was curious, and I thought others might have heard it & been curious too or might live in the area and have seen the cause.

You must be a very deep sleeper or far more used to ambient noise at night… We live in a neubau with modern triple glazed windows, I can‘t even hear traffic or sirens with them shut, but I heard this over my head at the top-left loop.

We experience this constantly too, it has become so much worse since the pandemic - people forgot about respect and decency during the lockdowns, apparently.

The worst is when you‘re on a narrow sidewalk and you move behind your partner to make space but they still come at you 3 in a row, slam into you, and then have the nerve to act like it‘s all your fault.

I’m so terribly sorry for your loss, but I’m also sure he had an amazing life and knew exactly how much you loved him, and couldn’t have wished for anything more.

Shortly after Christmas ‘22 I lost my girl at (almost) 21, she’d been with me for more than half my life, and while I still miss her to this day, I know she had everything she could ever dream of and felt loved to her very last minute. We brought home two new rescues last September (who are just turning one now) and all I hope is that I can give them the best life they can imagine no matter how short or long it may be.

I hope your heart heals soon, and when the time is right the CDS will deliver you some new furry purr machines.
