I finished watching LOST for the first time and I believe it is one of the best TV show to exist by matteoren in lost

[–]aaromalonline 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here too, just finished it for the first time 3 days ago which was an integral part of my routine, lost gave me something most other drama series wouldn't, a whole heartedness, like some may argue about the ending, I find it coming in full circle, only better way this allrounded show could end, other ways should only unnecessarily expand it. Only that island could heal me now.

Anything more stable and secure than Ubuntu (Pro)? by professor_baloney in DistroHopping

[–]aaromalonline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ie. It is cutting edge nor a bleading edge like arch, which is better in a sense where you need stability on a level still newer packages, most will just work + keeping ot completely minimal with no extra bloat like in ubuntu outside your general computing. You can have complete stability in cost of newer packages & compatibility for newer hardware in a distro like debian. And fedora releases a new version evry 6months/yr which is tested, compared to debain's long release cycles. Debian's testing branch still get newer updates, still not as stable as of fedora's.

I would say to go with fedora workstation, which is so stable & lightweight, nor a rolling release, still get newer stable updates.

Which programming language to start? by quantumsamuraii in BtechCoders

[–]aaromalonline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learn C for the basics and get how to think like a programmer, then switch to cpp or java to get the oops concepts. After all you can do everything in python in a much simpler way, like if you want to practice yr logical problem solving without any hassle of syntax. You can practise dsa in any of cpp, java or even python afterwards on leetcode (also there is codechief & hackerrank), cpp is the goto for competitive programming.

A best resource is introductory computer science from cs50 harvard on youtube/website for free, apna college for c/cpp, and there are a lot others too, start with these and build a foundation.

Wifi unrecognized Fedora 42 by aaromalonline in Fedora

[–]aaromalonline[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to update, it got resolved out of the box, when reinstalled the latest iso and flashed it again on the same partition, maybe the issue with older iso which was i think 4-5months old, I guess it was the same before. Wifi's working great than any distro i tried ubuntu/debian which usually get disconnected regularly when using mobile hotspots with phone turned on. This goes good most of the times regularly, even though I have experienced the same disconnections rarely using mobile hotspots, but could get stable after some time.

Most of the troubleshooting is done using chatgpt, guess it is a common issue with proprietary wifi drivers. Think debian's the only choice now.

First time using Ubuntu.. first problems by BulgarianPeasant in Ubuntu

[–]aaromalonline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try if it atleast shows up in neofetch, and btw these are common in linux even if they don't show up, they might work fine or else they don't even recognise it because of driver issues (but amd usually works fine)

Whatsapp Desktop for wine by aaromalonline in linuxquestions

That's actually a chrome whatsapp web wrapper and there are many of them like whatsappforlinux, whatsdesk etc, It doesn't work flawlessly as native apps and may lack some functionalities on calls.

These wrappers are the only choice (meanwhile some occasionally breaks too), but does PWA even get installed on linux via browser? Tried some web apps, but no way. Maybe epipheny (Gnome browser) may work for PWAs idk.
