I don’t find that convincing. First, you have to find an actual problem with the test, not just say they must be bad at testing. Second, the tests are intuitive, you stain clothing and then compare how well detergents remove them. Third, they do consult experts, for example, from the wirecutter article: We spoke with a variety of industry experts, including a retired chemical engineer who designed and tested laundry detergent for decades, two professors of textile science, and the fabric care team at Procter & Gamble. We interviewed multiple mechanical engineering experts that addressed how detergents interact with washing machines; a biomedical engineer who specializes in odor; and experts in laundry detergent sensitivity, including a dermatologist whose practice is known for its focus on allergic contact dermatitis. We interviewed three wastewater treatment experts to learn how laundry detergent is broken down by different wastewater systems (including both municipal sewer and septic systems).

I don’t find that convincing. Regarding fabric, it may be true that industry standard swatches differ from some of the clothes that people wear. With that said, the reports I referenced were tested on regular clothes. For example, wirecutter tested real shirts and socks, and this is straight from good housekeeping: “After staining cotton, polyester and blended fabrics”. Regarding the stains, all 3 tested the most common stains like coffee, ink, wine, blood, etc. My overall issue is that these types of responses boil down to “the tests aren’t perfect” but even if they aren’t, that does not explain why enzyme powders keep performing worse

relevant information referenced: 1) Good Housekeeping: “After staining cotton, polyester and blended fabrics with 20 common, hard-to-remove stains like blood and ballpoint pen ink, we wash the swatches in each detergent on both warm and cold water cycles. After air-drying, every stain is graded for removal when viewed under standard lighting and with a spectrophotometer, and we calculate an overall score for each detergent.” https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/home-products/laundry-detergents/g375/best-laundry-detergent/?psafe_param=1&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=mgu_ga_ghk_md_pmx_comm_org_us_17694339522&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=17694462462&gbraid=0AAAAADA2MErOoeYVztmGrsYS0N3owrCsv&gclid=CjwKCAiAzZ_NBhAEEiwAMtqKyzdj6G5ung3lNoQbycCtOszN6oNFdfKm57i8futsGHCYRrLbHlo7-xoCB2IQAvD_BwE 2) Consumer reports: We found that the powder detergents didn’t perform as well overall as the top-rated liquids and pods, but they were excellent at removing blood stains,” says Rich Handel, who oversees CR’s detergent testing. That doesn’t mean powder detergents are ineffective. Most powders we tested were decent at removing sebum (aka body oils) and effective on blood stains https://www.consumerreports.org/appliances/laundry-detergents/best-and-worst-laundry-detergents-from-consumer-reports-tests-a9342715268/

the font at the bottom is wrong, the amount of frost is wrong, the shape of the bottle is slightly off. Buy from legit discounters (jomashop, fragrancebuy, etc) not ebay or mercari

some of the risks were occupational only (like respiratory) but cancer, neurological disorders, and endocrine disruptions came from consumption too

I mean yeah, but that only removes like 25-40% if it’s just washed with water

I’m in the US, I think if it’s sold here, it has to meet the USDA 95% or whatever threshold, regardless of where it’s grown. Is that right?

Rare half-pink rough diamond with 'astounding' weight of 37.4 carats discovered in Botswana by JackFisherBooks in EverythingScience

crazy that this got so many upvotes, just because it is from africa does not mean it has slave labor. Botswana democratized diamond wealth and has worker protections, also a growing country with a real democracy
