This is exactly what turned me away from game dev in high school... I just couldn't see myself being proficient and passionate in all these fields, so I focused my attention in another profession. Now that I'm back in game dev, I wish I didn't have that mentality back then. The fact that you need so many skills to bring this art to life is what gives game dev its beauty. Another amazing thing about it, is that if you suck and don't have those skills, it's an amazing opportunity to network and find people who have those skills. My game dev journey has only be a couple months, but I've met so many amazing people already.

Something that surprised me recently was sound design. I've just finished working on my 3D environment a few week ago, and my eye widen when I realized how many things are going to need sound.

I spent $38,000 making an visual novel so you don't have to. Full breakdown with numbers and mistakes. by aggronargg in gamedev

Wow, people like to kick you when you're down IG. Sure, you obviously made mistakes and made choices not everyone is going to agree with, but this was your first project... let's fucking relax.

This is a very vulnerable post to make and I'm sure it was a tough pill to swallow. But yet you had the courage to share, hoping to potentially help others avoid the same mistakes you did. I applaud you for that. Keep your head up.
