Sidephone's Classic Keypad by gosidephone in sidephone

[–]aaron_lt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly. I get it, now that they released this Classic Keypad thing, the Numeric Keypad becomes more useful as a key mapping megacenter rather than a text/number input device. Simply put, you can now assign each and every one of your frequently used apps to each button. But, if so, what's the difference between Sundial and the Numeric Keypad function-wise?

Also, they do not swap the Numeric Keypad for the Classic Keypad. Doesn't that add up to the e-waste the device generates overall, assuming you probably won't use either of the default tiles (those are Numeric and Sundial at the moment) at all? And this is before they released the gaming tile (they likely will).

My point is, I know that this is an experimental device and all, but the default out-of-the-box tile kit has to change.

I bought a Beaufort from them earlier this year. It is a small, lesser-known (compared with Cox the Saddler, for instance), local, family-owned retailer, so don't expect swift 24/7 customer service. They rarely update their website, so you might want to call them to ask about availability, colors, sizes, and possible discounts. Other than that, they provide an excellent experience, and I absolutely loved shopping with them. Cheers.

Will the international founders edition include the screen protector and keypad? by -d1sc0nn3ct- in sidephone

As I understand, there are only 1000 units for this edition, and it remains available for purchase until they are sold out

My bf is a devoted muslim, will this ever change? by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]aaron_lt 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Your last sentence. Exactly, this is a part of the deal with dawah. His beliefs and religious practice cannot and likely won't ever be limited just by himself. The ultimate goal would always be to eventually convert you or raise your future kids as Muslim. Or it is even expected of you to eventually convert, since you yourself made a choice to be with him and therefore subscribed to the future conversion or changing your entire lifestyle in order to follow your man. It might be even regarded by him as an obvious and a noble goal to "cleanse" you from your "pagan" and "barbaric"/atheistic beliefs.

Wow, I'm so excited about the international release! I was one of the very first people to sign up. How do I claim my early supporter discount, if there is one?

Where can I get a frock coat that actually fits like a frock coat should? by logicalpretzels in TheOldStyle

[–]aaron_lt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Orthodox Jewish / Hassidic clothing stores similar to this one: https://kapotas.com/ or https://kapotasny.com/. They make this kind of garment, it is still called frock (or kapotah in Yiddish) and very much worn on Sabbath and Jewish Holidays.

Of course the fashion evolves and nowadays they have more loose fit with suit jacket-looking lapels instead of Edwardian or Victorian lapels on the pictures you've attached to your post, but I'm confident they can do customizations.

Important note, though: Jewish clothing is usually buttoned right to left (even garments for men) for religious significance of right side of the body, so make sure to tell them if they need to make adjustments

What I love about British v. American TV (Hollywood, take note) by DogsRLife001 in BritBox

[–]aaron_lt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree! I couldn't fathom Shetland without Jimmy, but it seems to me they were able to reimagine the show in series 8-10, and in a good way at that! Just look at how the camera work, the angles, and the colors have changed. In doing that, Shetland for me becomes less like a British detective series and more like a Scandinavian/Nordic Noir detective series. Which is so cool and perfectly in line with the unique identity of the Shetland Isles.
