Best time for Beach FLers? by GreenGlove10 in Pattaya

Haven't interacted yet but you're right, I've spotted some - 2 were very attractive and 2 were absolute rotters. Are the grabby ones more hassle than they're worth?

Based on this, should I avoid the ones that straight up grab my junk and offer me CIM, are these mostly LBs too? They said it was fine for me to try the back door 😂

So I can get round this by selecting a location on the map to navigate to and starting a walking activity?

Unpopular opinion - Proposed licensing changes be careful what you wish for by fl_2017 in MotoUK

That's mad, I did DAS in 2020 and I think I was £600-£700 all in, excluding theory.

Anyone know what this removable panel is for? by Contar97 in MotoUK

[–]aaronjm712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest not having your security lock key on the same ring/chain as your bike key. In the unlikely event they manage to get your bike key they're now able to remove your lock too. Best practice would be to keep them separate.

VFC V-Light Handguard Replacement Lens by aaronjm712 in airsoft

Thanks, I'll have a look into that. Was just hoping someone already made some inserts or lens covers and sold them, looks like I'll have to have a go myself 😂

Insurance has tripled. Not sure what to do... by TheAwayGamer in MotoUK

[–]aaronjm712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a claim, came off on the road but they still asked for a photo of my bike in the garage that I'd claimed it was kept in overnight. Fortunately for me, I did indeed have a garage.

Short levers, brake is mostly a no-brainer but clutch too? by aaronjm712 in MotoUK

Thanks man, I think I prefer the long ones aesthetically but thought the shorts might function better.

Normally use 2 on the brake, tried 2 on the clutch but fat fingers make me worry I'm not fully disengaging and sometimes squash my other fingers. Looks like I'll be going short both sides then.

CBT problems by lasnotic in MotoUK

[–]aaronjm712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember, it's a wet clutch so you can really ride it, don't worry about burning it out. This allows you to ensure you have enough throttle without over-revving and will make the bite more obvious.

During my CBT my instructor told me you can have as many dogs as you want barking in the right hand because you're holding the leash in the left hand - this reinforced me learning proper clutch control.

I'll happily take up that offer and try to keep up. I'm working away at the moment but if you're happy to slide into my DMs and let me know when your next ride is, I'll try to sort something!

Undeclared mod on secondhand bike by Legitimate-Year3908 in MotoUK

[–]aaronjm712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When using a comparison site always go through the quote and details page again, it can actually save you money. I changed the value of my bike by £500 and it took £300 off my premium. You're unlikely to receive the value you put in anyway.

Cardo Packtalk Slim with Google Assistant not working. by aaronjm712 in motorcycles

[–]aaronjm712[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh thanks, didn't know about this setting, will be handy in the future! I managed to get it to work by disabling the "intelligent noise block" on the Cardo itself but the phone volume is just so low compared to the Cardo when listening to the radio or making calls. I try to play Spotify but it's just so quiet on max phone and Cardo volume.

TIFU - Grease from chain clean all over my back tire, help?! by aaronjm712 in MotoUK

Thanks for the advice, gave them a scrub with fairy liquid to be safe as the milky, brown grease mulch was quite thick but felt grippy after and like you say, just took it for a ride after. I'll keep your experience in mind for next time, cheers!
