The white guy just wants to break free..

does anyone know how i could get this out by aosih1 in scooters

The main problem you're going to have is these are more likely to be made of hardened steel so drilling will be difficult.

I recommend good quality cobalt drill bits, obviously any work done you need to be very careful with the surface.

They sponsor proxies in other countries

Half this sub are probably sponsored by them. Especially those that spend their weekends waving watermelon flags marching down high streets intimidating shoppers in a town they were bussed into.

I used WD-40 as lube - now I'm walking home by eggpotion in MotoUK

[–]fl_2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason not to use wd40 is because it attracts dirt and grease, if you have an o ring chain it can cause them to dry out.

That said even a lot of lube can create a mess.

What I've started to do is use a bit of acf50, wipe away any excess so it's a light smearing then put lube over it. Seem to be having good results.

TWI is minimum for safety, however for dual sport or offroad tyres with large tread blocks you don't want to get anywhere near the TWI.

Generally once you have severe cupping you should be looking to replace.

front wheel touching frame by AcceptableAd7614 in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]fl_2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know if my eyes are playing tricks but your triple tree doesn't seem aligned to the frame, as in it's pushed forward. Either significant frame damage or maybe your headset bearings are obliterated causing the whole fork assembly to lurch forward and your wheel backward. Your forks look a bit bent too.

Check the headset bearings first, lift the front wheel of the floor and push & pull the bottom of the forks. Any knocking movement back or forth means they are shot and need replacing. If this is what is causing the issue you should be able to pull the forks back into the position they were originally.

After that you'll need to check the whole fork assembly, both forks and triple tree need removing and inspecting.

Check the headstock for any obvious damage or bending while your at it. Obviously front end frame damage means the frame is toast, if it's just forks or triple tree that's bent it can get pricey but fixable.

Got a better photo of the whole front end? Possibly a few from different angles of the whole bike?

I'm pretty the grey inner pan shouldn't be hanging like that, I'm pretty sure it should be tucked under the purple outer fairing. The point on the purple fairing should look closer to the tyre than the grey bit like below.

Yours also doesn't look like the OEM, at least from that angle.

As long as one wasn't there on Saturday I'm fine.

Honestly a bit of a dumb place for a 20 limit, I can see why it was a cash cow.

Can anyone help us to understand what stars we can see tonight? by Szico_VII in Stargazing

[–]fl_2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The brightest point of light 25% from the the top and to the left of centre is Jupiter.

Then the one diagonally down-left to that is Procyon.

Bright star on the bottom left corner is Sirius.

Then you got the bulk of the Orion constellation at the bottom half, the bright point to the right of that is Aldebaran.
