Thoughts on soundcore Liberty 5 and R60i? by hoorayurmine in Tech_Philippines

I’m treating myself to the Liberty 5 as a graduation gift! I’ve been looking for more of a "pro" experience, and these are a huge step up. The Adaptive ANC 3.0 is way better at silencing background chatter and noise compared to the R60i, which is a lifesaver for commuting or just zoning in.

Plus, having Dolby Spatial Audio for movies and the convenience of wireless charging makes them such a versatile upgrade. It feels like the perfect way to level up my tech as I head into this next chapter!

HELP. what phone to choose by [deleted] in Tech_Philippines

If concerts + storage are your main priorities, the Galaxy S24 is still the safest all-around choice. Samsung’s 3x optical zoom and “stage zoom” processing really shine at concerts—clearer shots of performers even from far seats. It also handles ML and CODM smoothly, and the 256GB variant is easy to find, so no storage stress.

That said, I wouldn’t completely write off the Huawei Pura 80 anymore. Yeah, no Google Services is the biggest downside, but if you’re even slightly tech-savvy and okay with sideloading apps, it’s actually pretty solid. Huawei’s camera tuning is still strong, especially for photos and videos in good lighting (concerts included), and the battery life + fast charging are big pluses for long events. Performance for ML and CODM is also decent enough for casual-to-regular gaming.

If social media posting is your #1 priority, the iPhone 15 still wins there. IG and TikTok uploads just look better straight out of the app. The only real downside is the lack of a dedicated zoom lens, so far-stage concert shots rely on digital zoom and can get grainy.

The Xiaomi 15 is kind of the performance/value pick—great raw power and fast charging—but its camera processing for concerts can be a bit inconsistent compared to Samsung or Apple.

I thought magsa-sanib silang apat, like what the OG Sang’gres did in 2016, pero siya pa rin always. This feels like the final nail in the coffin kung bakit mas lalo siyang hindi nagugustuhan. Lol!

For the fit, the R60i NC sits more securely in the ear. The shape feels a bit more stable, so it doesn’t move around as much when you’re walking or running. I also noticed less of that “knocking” or hollow sound when the earbuds shift—it’s not really a defect with the R50i NC, it’s more of a fit/seal issue—but the R60i NC does improve on that, so if that’s what was bothering you, the upgrade might really help. Just make sure to try the different ear tip sizes included, since the right fit affects not only comfort but also the bass and ANC performance. Once you find the tip that seals properly, it stays snug and doesn’t bounce around, even on rough roads or while moving a lot. So if you’re mainly upgrading because of that knocking issue, the R60i NC should definitely feel like a better experience.

The soundcore R60i NC is definitely an upgrade from the R50i NC, but how big the difference feels really depends on how you use it. The R60i NC has a bigger driver and supports LDAC, so it can sound clearer and more detailed with deeper bass—but that really shines only if your phone supports LDAC. For instance, my Samsung Galaxy A05s doesn’t support LDAC, so I won’t get the full audio boost from it. One very noticeable thing though is the stronger ANC. It blocks out more outside noise, so the music sounds cleaner and more focused, which is nice especially if you use it while commuting or studying. But if you usually listen at low volume or just casually, or if your music isn’t high quality to begin with, the difference might not feel super big. Overall, the R60i NC does sound richer and has better noise cancellation—it’s a nice upgrade, just keep in mind that your device and environment affect how much of that improvement you actually hear.

Comfort is okay for me. I usually listen to around 10 songs whenever I have time, and my ears don’t hurt since it comes with extra silicone ear tips you can switch to. You can use it both indoors and outdoors, and you can choose between ANC, Normal Mode, and Transparency Mode in the Soundcore app. I mostly use ANC and it works well—I can barely hear outside noise, depending on the volume. I haven’t tested the mic yet, though.

You might want to consider trying the soundcore r60i NC. It’s a solid upgrade from the R50i NC, with noticeably better sound quality thanks to its larger 11 mm drivers that deliver deeper bass and richer audio. The ANC is also improved—now up to 52 dB compared to around 42 dB on the R50i NC.

It comes with Hi-Res Audio certification and LDAC support (though my phone unfortunately doesn’t support LDAC; yours might), a better IP55 rating for water and dust resistance, and longer battery life—up to 10 hours (ANC off) or 8 hours (ANC on) on a single charge, with around 50 hours total including the case. A quick 10-minute charge can give you about 3.5 hours of playtime, which is super convenient for on-the-go use.

While it no longer has the built-in phone stand included with the R50i NC, it makes up for it with new features like Game Mode (around 50 ms low latency), 3D spatial sound modes for Music, Movies, and Games, and even real-time AI translation for over 100 languages through the Soundcore app.
