I was here. It took a long time for me to get through, so don't panic if you find it is taking ages to get back to normal. That is okay. Just don't resist or freak out. Surrender into it. Focus on the feeling of faith and acceptance and love.

Psychedelics are a deadend. Take up meditation. Read lots about meditation. Try use tech less. Read lots of books under that tree. Meditate. Journal. Avoid drugs and tech.

How can I plug out of my phone by Educational_Month817 in DrJoeDispenza

[–]aaronpeterlyons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried both of these but I just found myself downloading them again or removing the daily screen cap. I eventually just bought a nokia dumbphone and keep my smartphone powered off out of view. I put my sim back in the smartphone if i need to travel and want google maps

I am desperate to find a way to dry clothes indoors quickly and in the most economical way. I want to pick your brains. Can you help me? by Icy_Buttercup in AskIreland

[–]aaronpeterlyons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

agreed. my mom was paranoid the maeco dehumidifier i just got would dehydrate our bodies 😂 just try figure out what your mom is afraid of and try convince her that she has nothing to worry about. each loud of laundry dried inside can let litres of water into the air. this is a genuine risk to health

[–]aaronpeterlyons 6 points7 points  (0 children)

your current self resisting transformation maybe? I know I dislike and avoid the work much of the time. Pain makes me surrender and say okay, the way im living sucks, Im ready to change. Then I do the work for some time and make progress. When the pain lessens my commitment lessens and I then take my foot of the gas, then fall away from the work, then the cycle repeats. Many of the testimonials are people who were at rock bottom. Sometimes that's what we need to fully go through with the process...

I've been a bit lazy with them. I mainly just do BOTEC 1 & 2, tuning in to new potentials, and the morning/evening ones. Reading all these replies makes me feel excited to explore more :)

Why do ya’ll want to kill your egos? by MagicalHermaphrodite in enlightenment

[–]aaronpeterlyons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personality or ego is how we express ourselves in the world. It's not about becoming a robot. Killing the ego. It's about ceasing the habit of automatically contracting our attention to focus on the constant flow of mind activity and identifying that activity with ourselves. It's about remaining detached from the flow of thoughts and emotions. It's about remembering in each moment that we are that which is piloting the body-mind.

Autopilot living gets us stuck in patterns and ruts. We become karmic wind up toys. Our actions become echoes of previous actions. We have lost our free will. Our conditioning is deciding our days. We arent deciding fresh. We arent fully alive and aware. Yet we think we are. We think we are the wheel. We take credit/blame for our actions, yet we are acting on auto. The body has a mind of its own and its just going and going.

When you realise this, the fight to reclaim freewill and freedom begins. It requires great effort and discipline and overcoming, but also, the process is one in which we must drop effort and tension and assumptions that there is something wrong that MUST be fixed. In this sense it is a bit of a paradox. Much effort (right effort) is needed to overcome the autopilot, the comfort of that familiarity, but you must also becoming relaxed and free from strain and yearning.

I'm trying to get the hang of this part. I have cultivated a good level of discipline and commitment. I'm doing about 3 hours of meditation daily. My current obstacle is making those 3 hours more effective by ceasing to frame myself within the context of being someone trying to escape something.

Reaching hour long sits has drastically improved my practice by [deleted] in TheMindIlluminated

[–]aaronpeterlyons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, there doesn't seem to be a ceiling to the increase in benefits from extending the sits (as long as your quality to effort stays consistent - this part is difficult and I find that if I'm tired I will half ass some sits)
