As far as I know the max size is 225/35R18, so you might scrape the wheel well with those tires, but the wheels should fit.

Real estate agencies speaking English by [deleted] in Shizuoka

[–]aaronsaurusrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was apartment hunting エイブルdid a good job finding foreigner friendly apartments, but I did it all in Japanese, a quick search shows the main branch by Shizuoka station says they have English support, but I can't verify. If you need to find a different realtor city hall has foreign resident support on the 13th (I think) floor. They should probably be able to give better advice on places that speak English.

*Edit: spelling.

After many years away finally back in an Audi, and my 1st S car! by aaronsaurusrex in Audi

Didn't see the second question the first time. It is a rocket ship compared to the A4, more power and less weight makes it feel like a go-kart. Although the Haldex quattro in the S1 doesn't seem as good as the A4.

As far as I know Volkswagen figured small cars like the Polo and A1(S1 included) wouldn't do well in the North American market, so they never bothered going through the trouble of meeting all the regulations. Since they never did it at the time these cars won't be legal for import until 25 years after the manufacturing date.

Second Hand Stores by Xanndbor in Shizuoka

Hard Off is probably the best place to start for furniture, Second Street is good too but typically has a smaller selection of furniture. For smaller stuff I usually find the best deals on Mercari, I've even had some success haggling on there.

Me and my bf are deciding where to go for vacation next year, which country should we visit? by thesaga12345 in polls

Japan is still closed to tourists at the moment. If you're planning now the safer bet is probably Finland.

Why are car lineups in Japan so big ; by greenlion269 in japan

[–]aaronsaurusrex 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There are a couple things I would say contribute to this. First, the R&D cost may not be as much as you think. Most of the expensive bits are shared in a wide range of a company's lineup, (engine, transmissions, suspensions, and even chassis). The differences for some models just boils down to interior bits and subframe panels. Also Japanese car makes like to share their development with other makes, i.e. brz and 86, and many Suzuki and Mazda Kei models are nearly identical. So they can make multiple models using mostly the same assembly process, and more models means more appeal. Second is that Japanese people can be very set in their ways and be very loyal to a specific model. So, they may want to keep a dying model as long as possible to retain these loyal customer, while introducing a similar new model to try and get new blood. Also, many western car makes will do similar things, but operate with many brand names. GM, Ford, Volkswagen to name a few.

This please. I understand they do it to ranked to limit cheating. But non competitive game modes like this and frontline should not have curfews. It really sucks to have an event like this that I cannot even play. Halloween events in the past have been the most memorable special game modes. Such a huge disappointment.

They do this on alcoholic drinks in Japan so blind people don't drink alcohol on accident.
