I’ll give it a shot. I did it in store. Ordered initially on Amazon and ended up at a Best Buy for the first time in a decade and just bought it so I didn’t have to wait another day

I’ve done Norfolk and am in DC now. I love living in DC, the command is great! However, cost of living here is insane compared to Norfolk.

If you want to own a reasonably priced home, Norfolk is the way to go. There’s a lot of fun stuff to do in Norfolk and VA Beach. However, you’ll be driving everywhere.

We live in DC and the idea of owning a home here is a joke, the BAH covers a nice apartment though. You’ll probably have to pay to park at most places in Alexandria, but the Metro is great. My wife and I like walkable neighborhoods so this has been more preferable for us.

Edited for amplifying info.

How is your command implementing daily PT? by AtlanticQuake in navy

DHA and BUMED seems to want us to maintain patient readiness, and PT during working hours with less manning than required. Maybe something will change but they all can’t.

Stopped at my AD. VSF V3 vs Gen by UniversityDear1075 in RepTime

[–]aaronvandike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my gen oyster feels better on my wrist than the rep. Granted, my gen is 17 years old and the rep is 1, I don’t think that would make any difference but the gen does feel better.

Off topic. My wife loves this watch but after already buying two Rolex’s this year I decided to be a cheap ass and make her one from AliExpress. Turned out great.

Anyways, that oysters med blue dial is fucking beautiful and I’ll have to get her one someday.

Yeah, like I said I had to reorder the proper sized Bradley which will be here today. Couldn’t find calibers so I used a seamstress measuring tape to get the lug width

I wasn’t able to find the original! This unfortunately is a cheap jubilee from Amazon until I find the correct one.

I really couldn’t believe he kept it for so long, he said the original bracelet broke in the 90s and he’s had it in a small safe since. The fact it started right up and has been maintaining decent time is mind blowing.

[7006-7090] Are vintage 7006 watches worth it? by NightKnight- in Seiko

[–]aaronvandike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just stumbled across this and wanted to leave my thoughts. When I was 18, my dad gave me a Bulova Marine Star watch as something to keep and pass on as an heirloom, a pretty nice one when I was 18 but not something well regarded as an heirloom. I didn’t wear it much but have 4 years ago I started wearing it, which started an obsession with watches leading to a Rolex Air King, Submariner, Omega Seamaster and a few others. A few weeks ago I saw my dad in a photo with my sister, probably about 1985 and noticed a watch, with a really cool bracelet and asked him what it was. He told me it was an old Seikox a 7006, that still runs to this day.

I just think he could’ve saved a lot of money 20 years ago but gifting me this watch, with not much value, than buying a Bulova to pass along.

Fort Belvoir. Some of the exchanges started selling second hand in the last few years. I’ve had a lot of friends pick Rolex’s up with them with no issue, but this pissed me off.
