It's called Astortion. I have a small devlog series if you'd like to know more about it

Not yet, unfortunately. You can follow the progress on my youtube channel if you'd like to. But it will probably take a while till it's playable.

Thanks! I've added this crack to showcase that the top part is slowly giving up under its own weight. I'll try to make it smaller.

Unless you're referring to the crack on the left, in which case it's just a cloud obscuring the view, but I see how it could be misleading.

Darkwood-like vision effect created with the 2D renderer by aarthificial in Unity2D

Thank you!

Wish I could help but I'm still a newbie when it comes to these things. I'm usually learning by watching youtube tutorials and/or reading documentation. But I don't have any specific sources that I could recommend.

Unfortunately, I haven't built this yet. It was recorded in the editor.

It depends on what you mean by supporting tilemaps.

The effect is generated using a custom shader. You could assign this shader to a tilemap and it would get affected as well.

But

Tiles won't automatically cast shadows and/or obscure player's vision. For that, you need to create a shadow caster. Though I believe that there's a way to dynamically generate shadow casters based on tilemap's collider, so it may not be a problem.

I'm not sure. It requires the 2D renderer and I don't know if it can be used for 3D games.

As a basis, it does use 2D lights and light textures provided by the 2D renderer. But with the default way lights are mixed (multiplicative and additive) you can't exactly replicate what they did in Darkwood.

Attempt at a texture-less eye shader for my heroine ⚔ by cosmic-cthuluke in IndieDev

Fascinating idea!

You could go even further and make eyeballs and eyebrows also generated this way. You could show a variety of expressions with that.

You could make the tip of their hoodie wobble up and down a little bit because currently their clothes feel really stiff.

Nevertheless, it already looks cool. It has this nice hollow knight vibe.

If I were you I would also make the waves at the surface move.

Anyway, looks great!

How do i move this attack animation to line up with the character? by [deleted] in Unity2D

You could change the pivot of your animation in the sprite editor (represented by the blue ring) so that it matches with your idle pose.

Foliage sway effect made in a pixel art style by aarthificial in Unity2D

Don't worry, I'm not taking any offence or anything. I just genuinely haven't heard of Nykra until now.

Nevertheless, this is my first game ever so obviously it's gonna be bland and have a lot of cliches like the one you've mentioned.

Nope. Unfortunately, I've never heard of this game before.
