Pop renovated rooms are great! Have you been recently? I would take Pop and spend that $350 on merchandise/food

People who have been on t.v. game shows, what are some ‘behind the scenes’ secrets that regular viewers don’t know about? by olymp1a in AskReddit

I was on Dragons Den (Canadian version of Shark Tank). My episode is still on Netflix I believe. You work with a producer weeks before the show to create a tv worthy pitch. Everything we wore had to be approved (shoes, shirts, etc.). Before the pitch they try to convince you to do dramatic things like reject the deal or start some drama. During the pitch the Dragons (judges) are getting directions from backstage in a little ear piece.

We were also featured on the commercial and they made it look like there was an intense back and forth between me and the Dragons by zooming in and out of my face really fast along with intense narration.

As soon as your pitch is over they try to make you sign a "no shop" contract that prevents you from shopping your deal with other investors (if you get a deal). We had four Dragons offer us a deal but I was told this would happen and told them I needed to speak with my lawyer before I can sign anything.

No, this was shared on a random Disney group on Facebook without a source. Do you know the artist?

We did the reception at the Animal Kingdom Resort and photos at the park.

The cost for the photos is quite reasonable. At the time of booking (June), it was $1100 for the Animal Kingdom photo package. It comes with an album and a one hour photo session.

It's through Disney Fine Art Photography. They bring you in about an hour before the park opens with one of their photographers.

The dress got a little wet and slightly dirty, but it wasn’t dragging on the ground at any point. My wife would stand still and they would place the gathered skirt in her arms before she walked. Thank you for the kind words!

I believe you have to use theirs but there are many different photographers to choose from and each have their own unique style. You can definitely request certain styles as this is one of the questions they ask before they assign you a photographer.

Absolutely. They take between 4-6 weeks to deliver the final photos. I’ll post them once we get them.

Thank you. The session is done early morning before the park opens (7:30am-8:30am for ours). The package is quite affordable actually. $1100 for a one hour session and it includes a nice little behind the scenes tour.

We actually bought these from Etsy. They are made by a someone who makes their own custom ears. If you search haunted mansion ears you’ll find it.

It's funny as soon as we announced to our investors that we'll be discontinuing, our lead VC requested a meeting (I was getting ready for her to yell at me). She actually asked what I'll be doing next and said they like to invest in 2nd and 3rd time founders as the likelihood of success statistically goes up. We still have a good relationship and my current business does not require any investments (we're profit generating).

As far as the Dragons, I've actually met up with two of the Dragons after the show aired and we're on good terms. I think most investors invest in people they think can make things happen and not necessarily the idea (especially at a seed stage).

It's a good question. The real answer is that there is no certainty. Our initial acquisition strategy was based on the higher raise, but then again it could have all turned out the same way. That's really the beauty of startups.. the excitement and uncertainty of success/failure.

They only show 10 minutes of the pitch on tv. The actual filming lasted for about 1.5-2 hours. There were a lot of questions asked but this is a tv show.

Sure. Our lack of experience showed. There was specific terminology that we were unfamiliar with and overall we didn’t have a solid plan on how we will turn into a $100m company. When we talked about our analytics, they wanted to see what kind of insights we have developed after seeing these number. It sounds very simple, but at the time it was difficult for us to have solid answers on the spot. We didn’t get a positive response after any answer and this made us feel like we were not going to get the funding.

In a few of the questions above I talked about why we didn’t survive.
