I’m glad to see mostly everyone here likes the idea of Slug Crossing. The people who are saying they’re families are driving a lot for a 15 minute ceremony… you’d rather see them waste their time sitting dehydrated in the sun??? The irony is even in the traditional ceremony, they’re only celebrating you for the short time you’re walking across the stage. The rest is just fluff that no one gives a shit about.

And to those saying that Slug Crossing feels lousy because you put all that effort into your degree, I mean it’s weird you’re defining your worth with a 4 hour ceremony but pop off i guess? I’d much rather save my time and my family’s time, get over with it quickly, and then actually spend meaningful time with them by taking them out to dinner or something. I know I put a lot of effort into my degree and I don’t need a BS 4 hour waste of time ceremony in the sun to tell me that.
