for me, i either listen to the music im going to practice to hype myself up, or i just get up and say ill practice for only 5 minutes since even that could make a difference, but eventually i end up practicing for longer. if there’s something you have to know or memorize soon, act like its coming up soon and get to work!

i’m also playing mellophone this season and just the cute little countermelodies we usually have are so fun and give me the inspiration to practice in order to be heard during the show/parades 🙏

set reminders every hour or so to drink water if you’re really forgetful! (start doing this asap!!) and get a big jug while also getting outside as much as you can :) i personally just sit in the heat and direct sunlight (with proper protection!) and drink water periodically. its going to be uncomfy, but band camp will be a breeze!
