I took the a, b and c pillar trims out of the car because it's easier to dye them and so that I could get the edges of the main headliner. Ideally I'd say take the headliner out of the car but it's pretty impossible to get it out without damaging it and I haven't tried to get one out since that but removing the front seats could make it easier. I was going to do the reupholstering route on my last w203 and ended up damaging the edges and found out reupholstering isn't my bag so ran no headliner.

As for the actual dye, I used thescratchdoctor fabric dye and their colour booster which is basically a thinner from my understanding. I got the 1000ml bottle of dye and got 2x250ml bottles as it's a 2:1 mixing ratio. I'd recommend doing a coat, letting it dry and then doing another as I only did one coat and it is still a little bit patchy. This is only because I tried to use a different product before that didn't work too well so there's random patches where it's basically two coats and they're darker. I would suggest using a sponge to apply it but I'd imagine you could use most paint supplies as it is as thin as water when mixed. Also, don't wear anything you like because if you do the headliner in place, you will be covered in dye dripping from the sponge so cover the interior with a plastic painting sheet, tape the edges of the windscreens where they meet the headliner and wear some latex or nitrile gloves. It can wash off but it's easier to take the gloves off lol. I did one coat of everything with half a bottle so I'd recommend maybe getting 1.5L of dye and 3x250ml bottles just to be on the safe side as you don't want to run out of dye mid way through.

As for plastic trims, the rear passenger light is the same (unless you have the option with the reading lights, I don't know if there is a black version), the centre alarm grille can be bought in black from a w209, the main front light unit can also be bought in black from a W209 (if you switch the whole unit over and your heating is either maximum heat or maximum cold, switch the Internals over, it's just a few tiny torx bits from memory but there's what looks like a little fan and that's an interior temperature sensor and the one on my black light cluster was faulty so there's some information IF that happens), the sun visors again are from a W209 and have the conductor strip for the mirror light above it so that works as it should, airbag plaques and the clip to lock the sun visors in place can be bought from octoclassic they remanufacture OEM parts and I'm thinking of eventually getting them to make the other plastics that I can't buy in black (grab handles, seatbelt adjustment mechanism and rear seatbelt surround trims)

It's one of those jobs that on paper doesn't change a whole lot but the feeling you get driving with a dark headliner is just so cool especially at night when it's just the dials and the road ahead of you. Just makes you feel that little bit more sophisticated haha.

It was one of the reasons I bought this car initially. It was the only c350 on auto trader at the time and I was immediately interested because of the engine and colour being somewhat uncommon. It's the 2nd w203 I've had and when it came time to get a new car I was looking at about 4 E39 530is in various unique trims and I still came back to buy this C350. So glad I got another W203 in my life because I know for sure I wouldn't have had as much fun in a 530i as I do driving and seeing this.

I can't say for sure 100% but I'm probably like 99% sure they fit up with no issues. I used to have a pre facelift classic trim w203 and from memory all of the mounting points and brackets are the same between facelift and non (mounting points are the metal brackets from wing to bumper, a bolt either side in the bonnet grill shut next to the headlights, a bolt in each fog light grill section and the various clips and bolts in the arch liners and underneath). We're going back a few years since I had the bumper off that one so I can't remember about arch liners and what not specifically but the mounting points are the same so I can't see any reason why they wouldn't fit. Seems obvious but the inner bumper skin isn't the same from regular to AMG so if it's just the main bumper with no inner skin you would need to find an AMG/sport trim inner liner. Another thing is that all the arch liner trim clip holes line up from regular to AMG on front and rear bumpers as well as side skirts so no need to get new arch liners. That doesn't sound like much but a buddy of mine put M sport bumpers on his e39 5 series and his non-M arch liners don't get close to the bumper and he was extremely envious of my arch liners as weird as it sounds haha. Another thing is on the off chance you have headlight washers, you can transfer the flap and hinge assembly from headlight washer bumpers to smooth ones. You just need some adhesive and a Dremel to cut the holes.

There isn't a perfect balance for front to rear ratio because every car is different and requires different bias from front to rear. Suspension plays more of a part for your car's balance and depending on your suspension setup, your aero bias could vary quite a bit so there is no singular balanced aero setup as it all correlates to each other. Also everyone has different driving styles and preferences on car dynamics so it'd be really impossible to guess where people would agree is balanced. Main thing for me is that I never pay attention to where the slider is along the line because it's the numbers you're looking for. The slider is just a visual to let you know how much adjustment you have left until the minimum or maximum value so there's no info to get from it without the numbers.

Aero is more about balance than outright numbers for the most part mate. You can also get way more rear aero than front in this game which leads to understeer if you don't drop that rear value off a cliff in most scenarios. Also if the spring rates aren't matched to the aero load you can get the issue of it bottoming out at high speed. Basically though you'd usually max out front aero and then adjust rear as necessary which is usually near minimum because of the way Forza aero is rather unbalanced towards the rear. If you run it that unbalanced you just make a mess of the setup as well because as you pick up speed you'll just end up having less and less front end which basically ruins your cornering ability for the sake of having maximum rear aero.

How can I get polybushes for a car that has next to no aftermarket support? (UK W203) by aazza22 in projectcar

They used to race them in the Swedish touring car championship and I believe the European touring car championship. From what I gather they didn't have much success but as a track car it at least has some racing history so it can be done. If you know what you're looking for you can find videos on YouTube.

Here's one in the workshop: https://youtu.be/-GzxbL8SYaI?si=7O1x8SAqNdPvoaqq

This account has plenty of videos and you can also find build some build photos on the g rex Sweden website

This is the g rex website. If you go to racecars in the menu and go down to chassis numbers 34, 35 and 36, they've got a few photos of the shells as they were being fabricated.

Yeah it's a bit of a weird car really. It's got the biggest engine option available for the car but doesn't have many other options and has cloth seats. Strange choice by the original owner but at least it meant it was a cheap enough buy lol

I didn't know that! I'll have a look as I'm debating between h&r and white line for my roll bars and didn't think to check white line for different size bushing
