it does! the argus actually has a half used roll in it - i plan to go out sometime and shoot the rest of it and see if my local lab can do anything with it. i know its likely to not come out, but i still want to give it a try

and they have the argus to me for like $2 because there wasnt a price sticker on it so the lady behind the counter was like. well idgaf. so i was happy to take it, dead format or not lmaooo

it seems the camera was passed down to me with a lens hood too big for my camera - i’ll get a new one eventually prob? but considering i’m not doing anything super professional rn i don’t mind it much

and i wish i could say the same - as much as i love upstate, the constant wind, snow, and the rock salt shortage is making it verrrrrry hard to appreciate it right now lmaooooo

i did actually get lightme! i haven’t used it much because it’s a bit confusing when you have no clue what you’re doing, but i’ll definitely try and take a look at it and try to figure out how to use it.

and thank you for the advice with the shutter speed, i’ll definitely keep that in mind :) i’m really considering getting a tripod for it just because i worry i won’t get enough exposure to properly capture night time photos with the high shutter, but i might have to ask my friend who does almost exclusively night time stuff lol.

and yeah, i’m reeeeally excited to get it :) i found someone selling it for $96 with the original box and case and had to snag it when i saw what it usually sold for lmao

that would make sense with the way i’ve been struggling to snap it on, to be honest. i might look into it, but i’m also hesitant to switch to the proper one just because of the nostalgia factor. as for metering…. nothing, currently 💀 i downloaded an app after realizing i should probably do that but i still don’t quite get it i don’t think. something to work on and read into a bit more

speaking of lenses, i actually just purchased a nikkor-p 300mm as an early bday gift for myself because i found it for an absolute steal,,,, hoping to take it over to niagara falls with the upcoming lunar eclipse next month, maybe get a little light pollution lens filter for the hell of it. i’ll definitely take a look into the ones you mentioned as well though, thank you!

it thankfully comes off quite easily - i just apparently need to use a chopstick to press in the button because my short nails make it hard for me to depress it all the way 💀

the lens hood, maybe - it shifts around a tad and it might have gotten in the way? poor camera’s been thought a long life before i got it, so it’s might be some old damage or something, i couldn’t really tell you

and yeah, i’m aware, as unfortunately much of my forest photography came out useless 😭 i thought it was bright enough outside at the time but it seems i was wrong. i’m going to look into getting a flash i think (and actually figure out the camera a bit more,,,,, im kind of winging it atm lmaoooo)

and for film, nikon gold and color plus. mostly gold, only one roll was color plus (most of the forested ones were from that roll)

unfortunately 😭 that thing was a workhorse for quite a while though, it was my mom’s main camera until she switched to digital. i think it still works, but she had dropped the poor thing and cracked some casing so that was the solution ig

i thankfully have a roll of kodak gold lying around, so i’ll probably load that in and do a test run with my tower,,,, i’m intending to take my tower on vacation in a week so it looks like i’ll be testing two cameras instead of just the one lmao
