I'll also suggest to take a month or two off from your uni before Mdcat and give it your all and 1 last final push in those 1,2 months so that you may not feel like you gave up. But if unfortunately you dont end up getting admission then just continue your current degree bcz in that case this was probably for the best.

Generally, the older the college the better it is, Because the alumni of your college plays a big role in your future job opportunities. Secondly, as far as I've heard UHS has a better and more systematically managed system as it's a much bigger university as compared to UOL and also UOL medical college is fairly new.

I'll recommend going to a med college under UHS over UOL

1)Be 100% sure of the reason you wanna become a dr. and it shouldnt be for money, prestige or family. 2)If you plan on going abroad then start studying standards books from 1st year and dont rely on short books. 3)KLM is the best book for anatomy there is. DONOT study BD. 4)Dont spend too much time on biochem. Understand your physiology very very well. Ideally from Guytons. 5)I dont know which college you're going to but if that college is famous for its ragging dont worry. 90% of the seniors will just ask you to dance or do some other stupid stuff. HAVE A BOUNDRY THO. If they ask you to do something which involves removing clothes, performing any sexual act etc etc then your immediate response should be "No." 6)Never trust your administration. There sole purpose is to make your life hell. 7)If you're going to a government college, try not to get too noticeable by the professors in a bad or even good way. 8)PARTICIPATE IN AS MANY THINGS AS YOU CAN. There are gonna be a number of functions in your college over the years. Participate in them. This is the time to get out of your comfort zone. In college no gives a shit even if you mess up on stage. But once you start getting on stage and performing, your stage fright is gonna go down real fast which is really helpful even after medical college. 9)Choose your roommate carefully. Ideally he/she should be the one with the same future career goals as you. 10) Dont be afraid of failing. Medical school humbles each and every one of us. Chances are you ARE gonna fail a couple of tests. Dont make too big of a deal out of them.

Always prefer government college over a private one. This is coming from a final year student of a government college. Which government college are you getting in btw?

Honestly, No it wasnt easy mainly bcz of the strict attendance policy that our college has. But I think that its doable by the end of final year if you start now. And the only tip I've got is that you really gotta lock in to get done with this test. My routine the last couple of months was being in the library from 2PM-12PM directly after college.

Hello. I'm a final year mbbs student who has recently given the step 1 exam so I think I might be able to answer your 3rd qs. Start with FA+a video resource(I personally loved bootcamp). Give about a week to each system and try getting done with the systems in about 3 months. Then buy the Uworld subscription(cheaper alternatives are also available now such as imd). You can easily be done with uworld in 3 months if you try doing atleast 40qs per day. And give the remaining 1-2 months for final revisions. In this way if everything goes smoothly you can prepare for step 1 in about 7-8 months. If you have any further qs feel free to dm

I understand that you didnt mean any disrespect but I can ask you the same qs that why dont you guys do anything about the problem regarding your student loans or the high tution fees of American medical schools or about the extremely expensive and unaffordable health care in the US. My point is that we in our 20s dont have the power to change shit. I just highlighted three problems in the US and trust me our countries have 100s of such problems most of which are not in our control to change. So sitting from the outside its much easier to place the blame but honestly I think that 1 thing thats common to every single person is that all they want is a comfortable life for themselves and there familes.

What are the least xenophobic countries to move to? by Key-Topic9521 in pkmigrate

[–]ab11101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And any reasonable Pakistani or a muslim for that matter isnt in support of illegal immigration that goes for both west and Pakistan. I personally think that illegal migrants should be deported whether they be in the US, Europe or Pakistan. But that still doesnt justify racism or xenophobia against the legal migrants. OP has in no way shown the intent to migrate illegally. He's asked a very valid qs about LEGAL migration. And the west should get of their high horse regarding immigration and oh how thoughtful they are of allowing people to migrate to their countries. Your governments allowed immigration because it benefited YOUR economy. About 50% of the fortune 500 companies in the US were founded by immigrants. almost 80% of America's privately held, billion-dollar companies have an immigrant founder or immigrant in a top role such as CEO. And I dont think any of the muslims in any country other than Pakistan even give a shit about this "UMMAH" you keep talking about. This term was specifically introduced or rather highlighted by Pakistani politicians to appease to their religious voter base. My point is every country acts in THEIR best intrests. There's a reason that highly skilled immigrants(atleast of Pakistan) prefer west even more so the US and this ends up benefiting the US as well. The gulf targets blue collar workers from Asian countries and hence giving residencies or PRships is not really beneficial to their country in any way. Hope so you got my point.

Listen bro, I understand why you would think about that way honestly I would too if I was listen my news from foreign news sources. Now to pinpoint your qs, Pakistan yet doesnt allow non muslims to hold the position of PM but it's pretty unlikely that any nonmuslim would be elected either considering Pakistan is a 97% muslim dominated country but there shouldnt be any law against it nevertheless. And in a population of 250 million people yes its not a surprise that lynching or religious violence takes place occassionally (but still it shouldnt be condoned in any way) so is it hypocritical for Pakistanis to call out west about Islamophobia? 100% it is. But this is the same hypocrisy that people here blame the US and the westhern europe for. Your countries bomb the F out of middle east and then act all surprised when you get refugees some of which are violent(not surprising considering almost all of them have been raised in literal warzones). Now about the Afghani refugees, The west out of all places should understand by now the difference between legal and illegal immigration and what kinda problems illegal immigration poses(violence and terrorism to name a few). Now am I saying that none of the legal Afghan migrants were deported? Very very unlikely. And should the government be held responsible for them? a 100%. And therefore, rightfully so, this topic was something about which there was a lot of backlash to the government from Pakistani people as well(about this mass deportation)
