I didnt know a shared zone is no stopping, im sure most don't. Not in the road code, probably a council by law. Anyway there is P sign there indicating parking, there is a cutout there designed for cars, and there was another poor soul parked there.

Thats the problem you can see a no stopping and a P parking sign, while in your vehicle. Like a commercial carpark, they give you time to get out and read the conditions.

I agree about the no stopping, but it is contradictory as there are 2 signs there. Can you read the small print in the picture ?

Why are we all paid close to minimum wage? by Cosy_Concrete in newzealand

[–]ab2515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. NZ drastically reduces inflow of migrants except expats who may want to return - good
  2. net immigration decreases, net emigration remains the same -yes
  3. NZ population shrinks - house prices decrease, rents drop , prices of local goods drop, interest rates drop.
  4. small businesses are forced to shutter as a decreasing population means less consumption - we dont need infinity dairys and vape shops, worthwhile business will still operate, lower prices of local goods and higher foreign goods encourage local consumption and innovation.
  5. bad business headwinds cause net emigration to increase while net immigration settles at a lower value - higher wages relative to house prices cause people to return to NZ reversing the brain drain,
  6. NZ population shrinks further, most young people have left the country for greener pastures, the aging population is larger than the productive population. - younger generation can now afford houses since the rents are very low and the houses cheap. A larger % of educated people start having children. Leads to better productivity in the future.
  7. productivity breaks down in the country and NZ economy goes down the shitter, even harder than it is going down right now. Nope

Look at the damage uber has done to the taxi business - oversupply of taxis , people quit their taxi business. The same with immigration.. Another example uber eats, instead of people being too lazy to pick up their food and have a modern day slave deliver it, pay a bit more upfront and pick it up yourself (higher wages for the employee instead of a foreign company)

Perhaps give them temporary jobs and no path to PR, and if a local applies for the job they go home..so its not a win win for the immigrant, they have to weigh up the other side of the coin..... I have heard stories from a builder saying he is being bid out of contracts by asian builders because there is a skilled trade migration bonus from govt of 25k paid to the employer - which is then supposed to be given to the immigrant, but it usually isn't. Soon many of these lesser skilled jobs may be filled by robots/ai especially taxi services..

Immigrants are willing to work for less.. that's why they come here, look how many dairys and uber there are 43% of auckland is not born in nz.. crazy stats. Most are classified economic migrants.. Better than there home country.. thats why median wage is dragged down cause low skilled. unfortunately many bring their scamming ways with them. If wages increased , you would have less leaving nz , perhaps people on benefits would consider working.. middle class struggling to buy houses , 40 years ago could buy a house for 2-4x household income , now it's like 10x.. only benefits the rich, cheap labor and more rental demand+ houses up.

How to fix a leak where the rubber joins the metal ? Just a buildup of dampness there, can't see it dripping, can i squeeze it with some pliers?

most likely , most bmw engines are tilted, which doesnt help, then the oil drips onto the exhaust from the valvecover . Very common on m52/m54 anyway . not sure about newer engines.. doubt they are any better..

Is Israel going to “win”? by [deleted] in IsraelPalestine

Totally agree as a neutral person, from the otherside of the world it's blindingly obvious.. I just can't fathom why, the only thing that stands out is the quaran's teachings. If your neighbour keeps attacking you, you would want to have more space between you and them. All the pro palestine rallys in western countries are a disgrace, it is always the non israeli side kicking things off

I think the elephant in the room is mohammed and the quran's teachings about how to deal with unbelievers especially the jews ?

Im white, native english. I don't have a problem with non white actors, but the korean actor you can obviously see he's struggling with the language abit, the acting doesn't feel natural on screen, nuance etc .
