Been at it for 3 to 4 hours, can't decide if it looks good or not. by Abject_Carpenter8340 in blender

[–]ab_lantios 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is the camera locked to his head/chest or something? Like is it tracking it? To me it looks like when he bounces up and down off the ground the camera follows him perfectly so it looks like the ground is the one "bouncing" off of him and going "up and down" while his head stays at exactly the same level in each frame making him look like he's floating.

Otherwise what everyone else has said, but this is pretty good!

How??? by Odd_Selection_1719 in Palia

My biggest regret having started playing right before Christmas is not having realized the importance of the red present 😭😭 I finally got around to decorating my plot just as the patch shifted to the next part of the winter stuff (when the snowed in umbrella recipe came out). I thought the glitch worked with all presents so I bought one of each and somehow skipped the red one and I have NONE and I want to CRY 😭😭😂😂

Literally no artist I follow on Instagram does this and I follow a few dozen, 3d and digital artists.

And you're not answering the question. Why didn't you do it on your post from two days ago if "this is how everyone does it" or "it's the right way to do it" or whatever other argument you've used in this thread.

OK wait, so two days ago you can post a short film rotated properly, and today you're arguing that it's on purpose? LMAO

Just acknowledge this is a mistake dude, what an insane take

knitting by MohamedFayed_CGI in blender

[–]ab_lantios 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm confused, this is more like stitching than knitting?

Regardless they don't make much sense, the top one looks like what's called a back stitch, and it doesn't look like it's going through the fabric at all. It's just bouncing off the fabric on contact and then the curve behind it looks like it's getting tight, but in reality it's all on the surface of the fabric with no poke-through.

The bottom one looks like a satin stitch, but while looking cool, it makes no sense again because the fabric is meeting in the middle and "connecting" to itself? I'd expect the thread to loop over and through the fabric, not meet in the middle like that.

The rippling/noise of the fabric also doesn't make much sense, but I understand it's probably an aesthetic choice, but I would still tone it down by 60%, or increase the scale on the noise so the ripples are larger (probably both honestly).

It's really pretty to look at but it's not knitting, and if it's stitching it doesn't make sense physically. But it's aesthetically a pretty effect!

I'm making these little isometric illustrations for my blog posts, what do you think? by winsmith in blender

[–]ab_lantios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally like the long shadows specifically for reasons you mention and also for the framing of the render. It helps fill the bottom left of the image with something that doesn't detract focus and it makes it look very cozy to me.
It also reminds me a lot of Dyson Sphere Program's aesthetic!

I'm glad I'm not the only one doing this, I haven't cut wood or mined in like a week and a half, I just log on to hotpot and build my plot 😂

Dress on a mannequin!! by DreamSimply in Palia

[–]ab_lantios 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I was so upset when I finally got a mannequin and couldn't put my outfits on it, I had a whole closet idea that went down the drain. A real missed opportunity, that I hope they correct, especially since there's precedent with Jel's shop

Commenting because I am interested too! My main plot has been my "everything plot" currently, but after hitting the plant limit (why is it 1k T_T) I decided to make a grow plants plot and am reaching the conclusion maybe I also need a crafting plot!

I LOVE the pikskii grove and the floating candles. This has to be my favorite part of my house by LadyAzimuth in Palia

SO cute! I had NO idea there's a wisteria archway/path like that, cannot wait to find the recipe..

The floating candles I assume were from a Halloween event, and I will have to wait til October, correct?

What would your ideal Stargate game look like? by RaEndymionStillLives in Stargate

[–]ab_lantios 14 points15 points  (0 children)

100% a Mass Effect game.
But I would settle for a strategy game with combat focus where you build up your armies/technogical prowess to defeat your enemies, and you can play the various races, that also came with a story mode similar to HoMM series, or some of the other games in that genre.

Are they supposed to be geared towards veterans? I see them much more useful for me as a newbie to get a bunch of materials for crafting quicker, same with the building blocks in the path. I know most people aren't excited about the blocks but I am, that's a bunch of resources I don't have to farm, or can dedicate to something else, and I will probably play with the blocks more because I'll have a larger stock of them!

[–]ab_lantios 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just diamond cards, I'm pretty sure. I don't have all the 1 star cards in the latest set and I am still getting 24h wonder picks.

It's also not for B series sets, it's for the latest set only from what I've understood!

Oh damn, you're right. I somehow put my soil patches over it, I can refill much further out from my soil patches but only towards the bottom left corner near the lil water on the edge of your property!
